" Going For The Gold"

Hello Friends, Followers, Visitors and Viewers,

Believe it or not, it is Friday.  What shall we do for the weekend?  Or, what shall we do today to end this glorious work week or retirement week.  Are you getting pampered with your nails, hair, massage, etc.?

Every person knows that gold is the highest achievement when we attempt to achieve the maximum reward or result in an endeavor. Gold records, gold bars, gold jewelry, golden age, etc.  It is of the highest quality.  We accept silver and bronze but gold is what we want to achieve.

I am "going for the gold" not in the Olympics but in card making for my last card for this week.
I made two cards.  One, I would say uses traditional colors.  The second one focus mostly on the "gold".

Take a look at what I'm talking about:

Supplies used:

  • Neenah white cardstock
  • Gold foil cardstock
  • DP from DCWV the Heirloom Stack
  • dies: Spellbinders poinsettia, circle, and Labels Eighteen and Sizzix holiday greens
  • punch from Little b Moroccan Window edge punch
  • embellishment: faux Recollection gems
  • embossing folder from Darice snowflakes
  • clear and gold embossing powder (sentiment from Stampendous clear nativity Christmas stamps

Supplies for this card:
  • Neenah white cardstock
  • DP from graphic 45 twelve days of Christmas paper pad
  • Darice snowflakes embossing folder
  • Martha Stewart Daisy Lace deep edge Punch
  • Versamrk black ink with red maker
  • Sizzix holiday greens die and Spellbinders poinsettia, circle and Labels eighteen die.
  • Recollection faux gems
Two cards almost made the same way but in the end I prefer "going for the gold" one over the traditional one.  I believe if I had not used the red maker this card would have been a favorite.  Adding that touch of red made this card feel a little off the beaten path to winning my appreciation.

Encouraging you to "go for the gold".  It doesn't have to be in card making but in any endeavor you choose to participate.
Have a marvelous weekend....until we meet again!

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois
