"Is It Washi Tape Or Not?"

Thursday, October 20, 2016
Hello Friends, Followers, Visitors and Viewers.  We are going to have another great day to get outside to enjoy the beautiful weather.  The weekend will bring the cooler temperatures back just in case we forgot it is Autumn.
Do many of you use washi tape on your projects?  This is a hot item for many projects right now.   I've seen it all over Pinterest and when I view different blogs.  Most people are using the tape in their planners and in other crafty ways.  If you don't have any, there are Youtube  videos to show you how to make your own.  I have had some for some time now and never really put it on a project. I have always preferred to cut my scrap paper into strips to use in the same way washi tape was used.
Today, I'm showing two cards, one with and one without washi tape.
If you are a regular washi tape user, quite naturally you can tell that this is not IT!  What you are seeing is strips of burlap paper  surrounded by hot air balloon stickers and sequins.  The layer is a piece of black Recollection cardstock adhered to an A2 Neenah white card base.

This is the real deal...washi tape.  I looked at this and immediately thought of travel...going on a trip or journey.  These two pieces in the blue-ish green are anchored in a "L" shape on a black Recollection background.  Two stickers, one that has an airplane going around the globe and another one with "Great Journey", were placed at the intersection of these two strips of washi tape.  Star sequins were placed on the card. This layer was then adhered to a craft piece that is 1/8 inch larger than the black.  Both pieces together were layered on top of the Neenah white A2 card base.
It will be entered in the Sunday CAS challenge over at the Outlawz.  Their challenge was using washi tape but your card has to follow the CAS style.

Thank you for viewing with me today.  Go forth and be creative.  Take a journey to the grocery store and stock up on fruit that doesn't grow in your part of the world....just enjoy...life is too short to sit and wish you should have or could have done something....get up and do it!

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois
