"What's Correct...Merry Christmas Or Happy Holidays"

Good Day to all my friends, family, followers, visitors and viewers.  It's the last day of November for 2017.  What are you ready for now?  I know you're going to say Christmas.  Am I correct in writing this?
I have to ask this question because I thought about what all the news is reporting about the WH's Christmas decorations and theme for this year...Do you prefer the words "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas"?  Just because you say "Merry Christmas", does that really make you a Christian? Just because you say "Happy Holidays" does that make you a non-Christian?
These are just a few thoughts I had on my mind this morning.
When I was in the school system and working with people who had various religious backgrounds... during December my cards that I gave away were "Happy Holidays".  It had nothing to do with the government or what was political correct or religiously correct.  If you gave me a card during the card exchange, and if I didn't know your religious background, "Happy Holidays" would be the kind of card I gave back to you.  I wasn't making cards at the time, so the package I bought to participate in the card exchange were very non-religious.
As was stated on "The View"...if you let media take control...you will find yourself one dimensional in your thinking and in your action.
I made a traditional "Happy Holidays" card for today.   Now, what does that make me? (lol):

"Let Me Hide Myself In Thee"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
How often do you attempt or have in mind to do one thing and it turns out so different from what your intentions were?  When you stop and ponder why...it may be God instructing you to do it HIS way.
I include in my prayer every morning for God to use me in anyway HE choose.  I ask that HE use my hands, my thoughts, my actions to lift HIM up in praise.
As I was shifting around some things, a card fell out on the desk with this sentiment: "Let me HIDE MYSELF in Thee.  I don't remember when or if I printed this out on the computer but there it was .  Is it a message for myself or a message I'm to pass on to someone else...at this writing I don't know...it could go both ways?
Personally, I can do better with my quiet time reading and researching God's Word. I'm aware that I need to  read, then stop and meditate on what I'm reading and to ask for understanding if I'm not getting IT.  For you...it may have a different meaning.
So, with the sentiment that fell on my desk and a lot of crafting supplies, I put together this card for your enjoyment:

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Kaisercraft craft cardstock;  DP from Heartfelt Creation Botanic Orchid paper
embellishments: Martha Stewart "fern" stickers; Offray mini sheer ribbon flowers; Recollections paper flowers and leaves; Petaloo flowers; cross sticker; plastic netting; Recollections doily.

The next time something happens that you consider "out of the ordinary"... it just may be God speaking to you to do HIS will and not yours.

"May Your Days Be Merry & Bright"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers on this November 28, 2017.
There are two more days in November and then the count down for all those anticipating a joyous and happy holiday.
Christmas is that time of the year when it seems that everything and everyone should be excited and happy.  The music is playing as you shop in the mall or are doing things around your home.  It puts you in such an uplifting mood.  The decorations of trees, windows, yards and etc.  makes this time of the year feel magical at least for the children. On fair nights we can see the stars shining brightly and twinkling from afar.   We appear to be "merry and bright" as the days get closer and closer to December 25th.
We get an angel from the "Angel Tree" to buy gifts for a child in need or we fill up a bag at the grocery store with food items to donate to someone that is hungry and in need of food...yet we still feel "merry and bright" or at least we try to be.
What happens after December 25?  Does that "merry and bright" feeling go away or does it last for another 365 days?
I created a card using this sentiment today..."May Your Days be Merry & Bright".  If you're in a position to be this way and know of others who cannot...please put a little "sunshine" in their life.  Donate gifts to the children whose family are not as fortunate as you or donate a bag of grocery to those who are struggling to have a nice meal at least once during this holiday season.  Make someone's day or days MERRY & BRIGHT:

"Gift Giving"

Hello, hello, hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Yes, it's me...I'm back!  We went on holiday/vacation and had a great time.  Today, we're back to the things we love to do at home.
My oldest daughter and myself had a conversation and discussion about "gift giving".
Some of the questions that came up in our conversation are:
  • do you participate and give a gift if your office or production line is having a "pick-a-name" and you provide a $10 gift to the person whose name was drawn (you really don't know the person)
  • do you provide a gift to everyone who works on your team regardless of their socialization with you
  • do you bring a gift (can be used by male or female) to the holiday party and you don't know the person it is granted to but you were required to do this
  • why do you give gifts...
Christmas is just around the corner...27 days away...so how many gifts are you giving and what's the meaning behind them?

I had some sheets of Kaisercraft cardstock paper from the "Glisten collection".  One of the messages at the end of the cardstock and my conversation with my daughter prompted today's card.  Look and enjoy the card but think about the message I placed on it:

While away on our trip, I thought about all of you and what you were making in the crafting world.  I appreciated some people who reached out to me and was wondering what was wrong...why wasn't I posting.  That's what I call LOVE!  It touch me to my core and really made me feel good to know that you really cared about me.  You know who you are and I want you to know I appreciated it so, so much.

Thanks for coming by today.  Thanks for commenting and please come again.

"Enjoy The Journey"

Happy Monday to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Here is a card share for you today.

Both cards are the same...the photography is different.
The card has foiling on the side and the bike is foiled.  However, trying to photograph this card, presented problems in showing you the beauty of the foiling.

Nevertheless, whatever journey you are beginning, remember to enjoy it.  It does not necessarily mean that you are using transportation or you are going on vacation.  A journey could be the start of fasting; the start of a new job; the start of living in a new neighborhood; the start of chemo; the start of a new chapter in your life.  However, if it is a vacation, then, enjoy that also.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"Two Cards To Enjoy"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's Friday and I know you're headed towards a great weekend.  It means a lot to take some time and just enjoy yourself and I hope that is what you are planning on doing.
Just before you check out for the weekend, try looking at these two cards and enjoy the view:
Paper layering with a die cut adhered to a stitched circle die.  The cardstock behind the poinsettia die is from Bazzill.  The other two paper patterns are from Michaels...the stripe is called "red denim lines" and the other is called "red dots".  I used an Art-C stamp with red archival ink for the sentiment.  The poinsettia die is from Tutti Design.

This is all Heartfelt Creation Botanic Orchid paper for the focal image except for the vellum in the middle .  The highlight on the flower center is Ranger liquid pearls.  The flowers on the left have a 3D dimensional look due to decoupage.

Do something fun and great this weekend.   My granddaughter is on her way to visit us this weekend along with her mom.  We are going to a 2 year old birthday party (how fun).

Thanks for all the beautiful, lovely comments.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"More Than A Tag"

Hello friends, visitors, followers and viewers.
I'm so happy to have you  to come and visit with me today.
I'm having a good time going through packages of paper that I have in my collection.  The paper I'm using today has been around a long time.  When I had a pad with no more than a few sheets left, I put the remainder of the paper in a sheet protector envelope and filed it in the bin.  What I failed to do...label it with the name of the pad the paper came out of.
Nevertheless, I started with the idea that I was going to make a Christmas tag.  It ended up being more than a tag....much to the effect of a card.
Here, take a look and tell me what you think:

'Wednesday Word Art"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
First, I hope your Halloween went well.  You and your children were safe.   Some people didn't make it to the end of the day on yesterday.
We are praying for the families and people in NYC due to the tragedy that happened there.

Second, we welcome in the month of November.  There are so many things we will be looking forward to during this time:  the end of daylight saving time (this weekend); election day on the 7th; Veteran's Day on the 11th; my birthday on the 18th; Thanksgiving on the 23rd; and being a DT guest on the 24th.  Circle your calendar on the 18 and the 24....

I did another paper layering card today with the twist of adding a scripture and some other embellishments to go in my Bible Journaling notebook.  I hope you enjoy:
