"Live In The Moment"

Happy Tuesday and the last day of July everyone.
My, how the year is going by so fast.  Slow down and breathe!
Tomorrow is...August... Lazy summer afternoons, Walks along the beach, Balmy evenings, cloudless skies, Stars just out of reach, Sailing on a quiet lake, Hammocks in the shade... These are the simple treasures Of which August days are made.
For today, live in the moment.  Have you ever just wished that a moment in time wouldn't go away.  You want to bottle it up and keep it forever.  Think of those times right now.  Was it a birth...a marriage...an accomplishment...etc.?
I have lived so many of those "live in the moment" times.  The only thing about them is that you cannot re-create that moment.  The second time is NOT going to be like that first time.
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
To create this card I've used the following for the Enabler's List:
cardstock: base is yellow Bazzill with DP from Bo Bunny layered on top of it.  The sheet with the butterflies came from Michaels.  I used an Alina Craft die to cut out a section of the Bazzill cardstock to reveal the butterfly paper.  Another doily die from Alina Craft was used to highlight the sentiment which came from Sizzix (TH).  The scraps of DP that was left over was used to create three banners that I adhered under the sentiment.  The sequins were added last.

Have a great day everyone and live in the moment of something that goes on today that really makes you feel good.
Come again.  Your presence is always appreciated along with your comments.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Bling Bling"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
So happy to greet you again on this Monday.  Nothing exciting happened during my weekend break.  It rained and it rained.  I didn't do any crafting  (wow...what was wrong...nothing...I just wanted some quiet time to reflect and enjoy God's blessing upon my life).
With the rain still pouring this morning, I decided to lighten things up a bit...my card share for today.
I was gifted rolls of "bling" in gold and silver a while back.  It had been in my file cabinet because I always forget to use it.  If I didn't need a large envelope this morning to send something off, this bling would still be rolled up in its special spot.  However, a little bling, bling ended up on this card to wish you a day filled with happiness:
All three sheets of pattern paper came from Michaels.  The flowers are from 49 and Market.  The puffy sticker came from Pink Posh and the bling was a donated gift. I used a tag die from Nellie's Snellen to cut out my tag. All my ingredients were put together and adhered to a piece of Neenah white cardstock. A piece of sheer ribbon was tied to the top of the tag.

Yes, I'm wishing you a day filled with happiness.  We need days like this especially with what is going on in this world.

Thanks for viewing and thanks for your comments on my projects.
Come again to enjoy the view.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"What's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year"?

Happy Friday everyone.
We are ready for weekend activities.  Nothing special...as of this writing.  After spending time with our granddaughter in NC last weekend, we plan to stay closer to home.  Not a lot of outside activities due to the rain in our area.  My DH was planning on meeting up with his high school classmates at a picnic but it has been call off due to the weather.  Shopping (window)  would be my option if I choose to do anything.  What's on your agenda?

My desk was full to the point of embarrassment.  My DH even asked how could I work with all the STUFF I had on my desk.  It was easy...push something aside so you could have a space big enough to cut and paste...until you couldn't find something.  I still had Christmas stuff mixed with this week's stuff piling up on my work space.  While cleaning, I decided to make another Christmas In July card for your view.  I used the Heartfelt Creation "Winter's Eve Collection" paper along with die cuts from Sizzix "Festive Greens".  I've had in my possession some bottle caps from years ago.  I wanted to get rid of them by using them in a project.  I decided today was the day.
This card did not take long to come together.  The paper, die cuts and caps were on my desk...it was what could I do with them that took a little while to think about:

" Just A Little Lace"

Hello everyone.
Welcome to my card share for Thursday, July 26, 2018.
It's my granddaughter's 10th birthday today and we have been excited every since we turned the calendar for July.  I celebrated with her on Saturday, July 21 and can't wait until she gets home from camp today to speak with her on the telephone.
As girls/women, sometimes we feel like dressing up and not going around in jeans and tee shirts.
A little lace makes you feel special at least that's the way I feel when I have on something with lace attached.  I don't have that many day to day outfits with lace but I do have a few pieces to wear to after five elegant affairs.  It's just something different about dressing up.  Your demeanor and attitude change.
In today's card, I added just a little lace around the bottom of a die cut.
I've used Prima Flowers and die cuts from Spellbinders floral ovals nestabilities.
The focal cardstock is from Kanban Crafts called "Vintage Glamour" as well as the center image.
I gave the die cuts some lift by adding foam tape on the back of the white (Neenah cardstock) as well as the pink (Recollections cardstock).

Take a little time to "love" someone today or make them feel special even if they don't have on any lace.
I enjoy knowing you have come by to see my project and/or left a comment on your way out.  Any time you visit, I appreciate it.  Come again, you're always welcome.

"A Monochromatic Card"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is that time of the week to celebrate "hump" day.  That's the day that comes in the middle of the week and it let us know we only have two more work days before the weekend.  Since it is summer  here in the USA, we look forward to the beach, barbeques, and picnics out in the sun.  This week has been rainy.  Since last Saturday we feel like the Floridians with having a rainy season.  The weather people have already said that it will be the same for this weekend so I assume we will either be like ducks and waddle in the water (lol) or like humans and enjoy a relax day inside.
I have missed a couple of Wednesdays, posting for your view, cards I had made for my bible journaling.  I want to take the opportunity today to post the one I made this morning.
I don't know why I went for the monochromatic look.
Take a look and let me know how you feel:

"Thinking Of You"

Happy Tuesday everyone!
It is a beautiful rainy morning where I am.  The heavy drops falling on the ground and with the wind on the windows, makes for a great day to lounge around and relax.  I can't do that because it is always something to do.  If not cleaning this or that, it is moving this or that.  No outside chores today so I'll be inside doing something.
According to the National Calendar...it is National Cousins day.  That's correct...we are celebrating all of those cousins we have.  I have so many that I will put them all in one big sentiment and say, "Thinking Of You".  There are some that I don't even know their name but I know he/she is a relative.

Take a look at my share for today:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
I started with the canvas piece.  Using textured paste, a stencil and a word stamp...I created a background.  This piece was adhered to a floral piece of cardstock.  I believe it is a DCWV  piece  of cardstock paper (I pulled it out of my paper bin).  To coordinate everything together, I used Prima and 49 and Market flowers to make a focal image.  I had scrap paper from some projects so I made "rolled paper straws".  I adhered the flowers on top of the rolled paper and used a sticker sentiment to go with my card.

I hope you enjoyed viewing this creation.  Your comments are always welcome.  Please visit here again.  Have a nice day.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Heart Wide Open"

Good Monday, July 23, 2018 to you.
Hoping you had a great, fun and fantastic weekend.  If you live on the east side of the USA you probably experienced some storms and lots of wind and rain.  Unfortunately, we will have almost a full week of a repeat each day.  Stay safe everyone.
This is the week "Sunshine" will have her 10th birthday.  She celebrated this past weekend with a birthday pool party.  You should have seen the fun her friends and her  had.  The energy from those girls made me tired but I enjoyed every minute of it.
From the glow and love they exhibited toward one another prompted the sentiment for today: "Hearts Wide Open".  If everyone in our world today could love and show love the way these girls did this weekend, we would live in happiness everyday.
Take a look at my share:

"Enjoy The Moment"

Hello on this glorious Friday.
I'm popping in to share a shadow box card I made early this morning.  So many things got in the way of posting during my normal time.
Let's just say two women met .  The atmosphere was really nice and the conversation was pleasant. They each could say that they "enjoyed the moment".
Have you been there and done that?  It's great to have friends or family members to share an enjoyable moment with.  Try meeting after church on Sunday to have brunch of just sit and have a really nice conversation about your week and your future goals.  It will make you feel so very special.

"Dome Shaped Card"

Good Wednesday to all my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Yes, once again we have made it to the middle of the week.  Our focus is on finishing this week out before enjoying the weekend.
How many of you made a tag on yesterday per my instruction?  If you didn't it's okay.  You'll get around to it sometime before Christmas (lol).
I was checking out some videos on YouTube and came across one that featured a dome shaped card. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyZ2yPgE-O4   I stopped and played it over and over to make sure I understood how to make one myself.  If you are interested... type in Craftmania dome shaped card in the search box on YouTube and you will see what I'm talking about.
Take a look at my share for today:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List"
cardstock: DP from Hunkydory Christmas Past; Acetate paper
die: Sizzix festive greens
embellishment: Christmas Red stickles

Jamie on Craftmania used a 8 x 8 pre-scored aperture card with three panels.  I cut a piece of cardstock 6 x 12 and scored it at 4", and 8".
I cut off 1/2 inch from the 4"side  and scored 1/2 inch from that same side.  I put double sided tape on the 1/2 inch scored piece.  When the left side is adhered to the 8" score line it will create a dome.  But, before you adhere it down...(1)make sure you have decorated the inside, (2)cut out your aperture on the  3" piece (4" minus the 1/2 you cut off and the 1/2 you have scored and folded), (3)added your acetate behind the aperture, (4) cut out design paper for the front of the 3" piece as well as a piece to decorate the right side of the card.
It's a little time consuming if you use the shape I used.  If you use another shape it may not take you as long as it took me.

Thanks so much for viewing today.  I hope you can find the time to make a dome shaped card.  Remember, at the beginning of the year I wrote that I would be on an adventure to try new things in my card making.  This was one of those adventure trips in making this card.

Lois

"Christmas Tag"

Good day to all!
I'm going to tag you today and then you can tag a-long.
It's too hot to run and jump like the little kids when they play "tag-you're-it" on the outside.  Our game will be in the comfort of your craft space (some of us are not lucky enough to have an entire room).
How to play: gather Christmas paper or Christmas-like paper.  You will need three different pieces that coordinate or maybe four if you don't have any tags that are store bought.  I actually cut out a tag using  chipboard and then three paper pieces ( one piece to cover the chipboard and the other two for layers..
Your design will be your own choosing.  You may use inspiration from Google +, Pinterest or this one from me.
Make your tag and post a picture to show your project.  Tag someone else to make one.

My share:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white; chipboard; pattern cardstock from Carta Bella "Christmas Delivery" and Scrapbook Customs" Rustic Christmas
dies: Sizzix Tattered Poinsettia and Festive Greens
Embossing Folder: Sizzix Winter berries
red tag is from Recollections Christmas Noel as well as the string
faux gem from Martha Stewart

Now it's your turn to make a tag and tag someone else.  Have fun doing it.

"Christmas In July...Two Projects"

Good Friday to all my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Ready for some fun?   What's really on your agenda for this weekend?  We are pretty much tired out and will mainly rest and relax.
I worked on birthday cards this week and decided to change up today to get into the swing of "Christmas In July".  Usually on Fridays I use what's on my desk.  I didn't have anything on it due to organizing and cleaning.  I tried last Tuesday to get it really pretty and cleaned because I knew "Sunshine" would be visiting on July 4th.  Since then, I hadn't put too much on it for projects.  I basically used cardstock and stickers mostly this week.
Today was full die cutting and gluing.

My two shares for "Christmas In July".  Hope you enjoy!

"July Birthday Card #3"

Hello visitors, followers, viewers and friends.
Today's card is another birthday card.  This one is made for my granddaughter.  Her birthday is on July 26.
Let's pause for a moment and read the story about her visit last week to our house:
I knew she was coming and I remembered what she did last year during the month of July when she visited our house (went around the house looking at all the calendars to see if we had marked her birthday on the 26th day).  So I was ready for her visit.  On Tuesday, July 3, 2018, I went to every calendar placed in our home and put a heart drawing on the 26th of each one.  When she came, she made sure she checked every calendar to find out if we were as excited about her upcoming birthday.
I had reminded my DH to mark the one he had in the bedroom  (of course he forgot).  "Sunshine" found that calendar that was not marked and reminded us that the 26th didn't have anything on it.  To get my self out of trouble (lol), I told her that this particular calendar didn't belong to me.  It was her grandpa's special calendar and he was the one who didn't mark her birthday.  She wanted him to get a pen to write her name on the 26th of July...he did and she was happy.

Here is something I made for her special day.  The sentiment will be placed on it before it goes in the mail.

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white;  Recollections teal and black;
embossing folder: Sizzix 3D botanical
ink: Hero Arts teal
embellishment: bicycle sticker
Technique:  I watched "Creative Uses of Embossing folders,  a video by Jennifer McGuire, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u88xGVBK3rU to make the background for this card.  The ink I used is a color that my granddaughter is so fond of at the moment.  The sticker used the same color and I was happy with the way this turned out.  There are a few missed spots in the ink but I let it stay just the way it came out.

Thanks for viewing.  I've enjoyed your comments on the other birthday cards this week.
Please come again...your appreciation of my projects is very inspirational.

Sending you a hug and love,

"July Birthdays Day #2"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Another hot, hot day physically and another birthday card for the hot, hot July birthdays.
This one is for a church member who will be 83 years young this month.  She still lends her voice in the choir.  Her opinions counts in the Missionary Ministry.  Wisdom and knowledge is heard during discussion in the Sunday school class.  She spent six months last year in the local nursing home for heart problems until her daughter researched a better doctor for her condition (she later had surgery on her heart and was able to recover to 85% activity).  She will tell you that she came so close to not being on this side with us... but, GOD!!!!
I chose to use black and white to highlight the image that brings out color to this project.  I used a die frame from Our Daily Bread Design, "Layered Lacey Ovals" for a backdrop to the image.  With the addition of a few faux gems and the word "Wishes" for a sentiment, this card was done.
