"Little Books"

Happy Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Are you ready for one "spook*tacular" evening?  I hope you have a lovely time "treating" in your neighborhood or at your "trunk-or-treat" party.
I'm sharing my latest craft fair project for my daughter with you today:  I have a couple of items left to make before mailing all of her items to her at the end of next week.
I have worked on little mini books or little books.  On the back of each page, I left it blanked so that pictures can be adhered to the pages.
Take a look at each individual one:
Book #1

Book #2

Book #3
At the bottom of this post are pictures of each page in this little book.  Check it out

Book #4

Book #5
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

Take a look at all of them photographed together:

Take a look at book three and each page in that book.  All of the mini books are made with embellishments throughout the book:

This is a great project  to use up scrap paper.  The largest page measures 6" wide by 4" high.  The closed book is 3" by 4".

Thanks for taking the time to view my project for today.
Please come again and thanks so much for the comments you have been sharing with me.

Sending you a hug and love.

"Moving Forward To Christmas"

Hello beautiful people.
Welcome to Tuesday, October 30, 2018.  Are your costumes ready?  Have you made the treat bags for the little trick-o-treaters?  Of course you're wearing the same costume you wore on last year or as some will say...the same one I've had all my life (laugh out loud).
Get ready because tomorrow is the big night for the kids and I hope it is the kids only.

My DH took me to Michaels on Saturday because he thought I needed something else (ha, ha, ha).  I did go in and made a purchase for two 6 x 6 Christmas pads to add to all that paper I'm already hoarding.   My peeps, I've tried giving it away, throwing it away, organizing it and I find myself still buying more with the justification..."companies make new dies and papers every month"...or, Michaels sent me a coupon and that's the only reason I'm shopping in this store..  Believe me, on Saturday, I had a 40% coupon, a 60% coupon as well as a 20% from JoAnns and the clerk in Michaels let me use all of them.  I didn't have to spend that much money to get those two pads and one more item.

Because of those two pads, today, I'm skipping Halloween and Thanksgiving and going straight to Christmas.  I made a fancy fold card for your view:

"Halloween Card "

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's Monday, October 29, 2018,  a windy day in the neighborhood.  All is good as can be.  What about you?  How was your lovely weekend?  Did you do something great and exciting?
Halloween is Wednesday and I just had a conversation with my  grandchild who is ten.
She is on vacation at the beach because her school has shut down for Fall Break.  She is going to pick up some seashells for me and I'm making her a Halloween card that will arrive at her address by the time she gets home (after Wednesday).
If you know me, then you know I don't make a lot of Halloween cards...but, with a grandchild, grandmothers sometimes have to step outside of their comfort zone to please the little ones.
I tried not to make it too spooky and grose.  Using die cuts that I found in my die cut folder, along with Tim Holtz Halloween ephemera and a Pinterest download, I made her a card.
Take a look:
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white;  Recollections black;  DP from Pinterest
die cuts from Cricut design space (cats, nose with circles for eyes, flourish, and  spiderweb,)
stickers of bats from Jolee boutique
#31 and the word October from Tim Holtz Halloween ephemera.
eyes on cats were made with green glitter stickles (Studio G)

Thanks for viewing this card.  Thanks also for the wonderful comments on my other projects.  Have a great day.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Stamperia Times Two"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
A special hello to Lindsay...I miss your creative posting.  I hope everything is okay with you.
Well, today is Thursday, October 25, 2018.  Where I live, frost has been on the ground, on the pumpkins, and on my flowers.   The flowers and the grass are slowly turning brown.  Their vibrancy is over until spring.
What feeling(s)  do you have for Autumn?
We watch the last of the summer days disappear.  We pull out sweaters and light jackets because the air is getting colder.  One more week before the time change on November 4th.  This means it will start getting darker.  So, the warmth has gone and the world is changing.  We will have Autumn and then Winter while other parts of the world will experience Spring and Summer.
The bottom line is...it is all beautiful.
Today, you will view two cards because one was made on yesterday (I didn't post) and the other one was made today for a challenge:

"Christmas...Joy To The World"

Hello friends, family, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's Tuesday, October 23, 2017.  A very nice fall day outside.  I'm not planning on raking any leaves.  As a matter of fact, not that many leaves have fallen off the tree as of yet. A report was given on the local news in which it was announced that it is unusual for this to happen.  Most trees would have changed colors as of this late in October but it has not happen.  The leaves on trees are still green.

Can you believe you were counting how many more days it was until Christmas on yesterday.  According to my calendar this morning (no I did not count yesterday), it is sixty-three more days before December 25, 2018.  Sixty-three days to buy gifts...to decorate...to craft...to etc....you get the point.

I shared with you that another Christmas card was coming today.
In relations to Christ being born...many others and myself consider it "Joy To The World"the LORD has come.
Here is my card for your view.  It is the same card photographed with different backgrounds at the bottom (brown and red).

http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white;  Bazzill red;  DP from TH Christmas paper stash
dies: TH holiday greens; TH distress doily;
embellishments:  flower was gifted by a friend from a die cut swap;  Jolee's 3D sticker "Winter Wonderland";  Ranger Christmas red stickles

I hope you have a good day in whatever you are doing or planning to do.
Thanks so much for your views, comments and support.

"How Many Days Before Christmas"

Good Monday, October 22, 2018 to all the beautiful people.
Yes, you are beautiful with beautiful souls to match.  I hope you had a lovely weekend and did some things you wanted to do instead of things you didn't want to do.
My weekend was glorious.  Yes, where I lived, it was raining and the weather was cool and damp, but it was still a nice weekend.
This morning, the question on the floor, at least from my husband... "how many more days before Christmas"?  He wasn't thinking about buying gifts...he was trying to figure out the answer to something that was on/in his thought.  Why?  To him , it appears that three events are all grouped together...Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  It appears that the stores are selling supplies for all three of these at the same time.  We have not had or celebrated any of these but they are not separate of one another at this time of the year.  People are buying things to decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas at the same time.
What can I say?  Absolutely nothing because I'm making Christmas cards in October...at least today I am.  I made two cards this morning but will keep one to share tomorrow.
Here is the first one I want to show you:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock 6 x 6 Neenah white;  Recollections green for layers: DP from TH "Christmas Noel" and Heartfelt Creation "Botanic Orchid Collection"
embellishments: Martha Steward doily;  Recollections tag: Jolee's Boutique sticker;  Walmart lace
die: Recollections

How many days before Christmas?  You may do the math.  It is sooner than you think.  Just "believe" that day is coming.

Thanks for viewing and thanks for the continued support.  I appreciate it so very much.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Lovely Moments"

Hello beautiful people.
Welcome to my blog posting for today...Thursday, October 18, 2018.  It is cool enough to put on that fall sweater to stay warm.  It is the kind of weather my daughter in Florida wished she had.  I told her we could switch states so I can remain warm while she cools off (our private joke).
What are you guys doing today?  I've already seen Halloween cards and beautiful scenery cards from some of you.  What a fantastic job you're doing!

Question:  Can you recall a lovely moment?
I had one as recently as of yesterday.  My grandchild sent me a letter.  It detailed her activities and how she is performing in school.  She had to audition for chorus and dance team...she did get in for both of them.  In her gymnastics class they are practicing for the Nutcracker performance in December.  I'll be marking my calendar for this event.  The reason this was a lovey moment is because I didn't expect  written  communication from her.  We usually speak on the telephone or instant message one another but not exactly sending mail the "old fashion" way.

Today, I did another card using some of the same elements that I used on Wednesday.
Here, take a look:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
Cardstock: Recollections beige for card base and a layer; Neenah white for a layer; Recollections black for a layer;
Embellishments: Kaisercraft "Romantique Collectables"; Glossy Accent; Nuvo embellishment mousse "mother of pearl"
Embossing folders: Sizzix 3-D "Botanical and Lumber" Texture Fades

Since most of the items were still on my desk, I just did a version of the card I presented on yesterday.  I will add this one in the box of cards I will send to the soldiers.

Thanks for your time and beautiful comments.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Sizzix 3-D Texture Fades Embossing Folders"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.   Welcome to the middle of the week.  Only two more working days to go before the weekend fun.  It's a great day in my neighborhood.   At the moment of this posting, it is quiet with an overcast.  Rain is predicted for this afternoon.  I love days like this.  It makes for a good crafting day. After a little crafting, I'll read a couple of chapters of a book that I need to finish.
Focusing on the weekend... the University I attended will be having their homecoming .  Rain is also predicted for Saturday...it may be a damper on our parade...we just have to wait and see.

My focus today is embossing.
I combined two 3-D embossing folders in my project.  They are from Sizzix and are not pronounced visually on this card.  You can see a little of the use from behind other pieces of cardstock.
Here's your view:
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Recollections beige for card base and a layer; Neenah white for a layer; Recollections black for a layer;  DP from Bo Bunny "Aryia's Garden"
embellishments: Kaisercraft "Romantique Collectables"; Prima Optimist Brad;  Glossy Accent; Nuvo embellishment mousse "mother of pearl"
embossing folders: Sizzix 3-D "Botanical and Lumber" Texture Fades

Thanks for coming by or seeing this on Google+.  Your support is marvelous and I appreciate it so much.

"Christmas Card In October"

Good day to all!
Happy Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
Are you a boss? Are you a great boss?  Do you treat your employees with respect?   If so happy National Boss Day to you.
I hope your employee's will show some appreciation towards you today that is if you have been kind and fair towards them.  You show love to receive love.  Don't expect people to honor you for your lack of compassion and sincerity.  If you have dishonored your employees during the year, then, don't look forward to them appreciating you on this day.  However,  for those bosses who have given their best in behavior and fairness, then maybe you will enjoy your appreciation today.
The weather is a little cool and crisp outside in my area.  It reminded me of winter and Christmas.  I put two paper types together to create a Christmas card today. I know we haven't had Halloween or Thanksgiving but Christmas is going to be upon us very soon.
Here is a closer look at my creation:
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white for base;  the next two blue layers are from Our Daily Bread Design "Blooming Garden Collection;  the grey layer and focal image are from Heartfelt Creations "Winter's Eve Collection" and the dark blue is from PaperandMore.
embellishment: pinecone is a Jolee's boutique sticker and the blue dots are Ranger's liquid Pearls (robin's egg blue).

We can explore Christmas in any month of the year.  Most of the time we try to keep up with Christmas in July and in December.  Anytime of the year in which we can squeeze in a Christmas card we should do so.  It is one of the most card giving time of the year.

Thanks for viewing.  Go forth and be crafty today.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

P.S.  I'm still having a problem posting to your blog.  If  you post to Google+,  I'm able to show you some love.

"A NOTE Card With Nice Things To Say"

Hello beautiful people on this Monday, October 15, 2018.  I hope you had an enjoyable, wonderful weekend.  For those in Richmond, VA, how was the Folk Festival.  We thought about coming and then changed our schedule to do something else.  Hopefully, next year.
I didn't shop this weekend except for groceries.  Guess what?  I wasn't in the mood for clothing or craft supplies so I shopped for food items.  What's up with that?
Question for today:  How many nice things can you say to a person?
  • A lady offered me the opportunity to get in front of her at the grocery store on Saturday...my response...no thanks but thank you for the suggestion...take your time, I'm in no rush.
  • When asked if I knew a certain person...my response...Oh, yes,  she has the greatest smile and always has something nice to say about everyone.
  • When my husband helped an elderly lady with getting something off the shelf...my response...I liked what you just did.  I hope I receive the same service from someone younger when I get older.
  • Someone is having a hard time doing something that will make themselves better and keep saying awful things about themselves...my response...you may think that way but I find you to be very intelligent and that statement you made about yourself is just not true.
  • When my grandchild talks to me on the telephone...my response...I love hearing your voice.  You are so calm and complimentary.  You've had a great day and want someone else to feel the same way don't you?
  • You call my house once a year and I didn't pick up the phone.  You attack my character because I didn't call you back...my response...I'm sorry I wasn't there when you called.  I do take time out to leave home as often as I feel the need.  Calling me once a year doesn't prompt the need for me to rush to call you back.  You prefer "drama", I don't.
We don't always have to bring a person's character down by saying negative things about them and to them.  I feel that some people who consider themselves intelligent to do the following... put more effort into thinking before engaging your mouth.

When there is no special occasion to celebrate but you want to send a message, use a "NOTE" card .
I've made one for today's view.
Enabler's List:
cardstock: pink from PaperandMore; brown (rust) Recollections; dark blue from PaperandMore; DP from 49 & Market "Cottage Life"
embellishment: Ranger Glossy accent

Thanks for taking a little time to view this blog post and card for today.  Your comments are always welcome.
On my end, something is wrong with trying to comment on your post.  Blogger will not allow me to post on your blog but I can if you're on Google+.

"Let Us Pray"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is Thursday, October 11, 2018.  Most schools announced closing on yesterday and those remaining announced closing as of 12 noon today.  Is the weather bad...no, it is the calm before the storm.  If we get anything from Hurricane Michael, it will be wind, rain and tornadoes warnings.  Still, we are making preparations for the worse that could or can happen.
My blog posting title for today..."Pray without Ceasing".
Today is a storm consisting of elements of nature.  We also have storms of life in which we should also prepare ourselves for.  There may be trials and sufferings we may endure.  How do we prepare for those types of storms?  We do so by praying among other things.  Of course, knowing and loving God has to come first otherwise he may not listen to your praying.  Add to this , reading His words and meditating on it asking for help from the Holy Spirit.
Praying... We need to develop an active prayer life.  During the calm seasons of life, we need to grow in prayer and learn to turn to God for all things.  The more we trust and rely on  God in prayer, the more we will utilize prayer during the trials of  our life.  In a crisis, we tend to do things by instinct.  Prayer should be instinctual, like breathing.  Hence, the sentiment on my card reads..."Pray without Ceasing".

Thanks everyone.  Let's stay in prayer for each other that we may endure whatever comes our way... physical, mental or spiritual storms.

"A Little Small Book"

It's Wednesday beautiful people.  October 10, 2018.  The middle of the work week.
It's prepare and watch day for the Floridians as well as those who will be affected by Hurricane Michael.  Please be safe my friends.
Dana, I'm thinking about you my friend as well as my daughter.  You all live around so much water down in Florida.
I have not posted my bible study assignment in a long time.  It's due for your viewing.  We are to make a card to send to someone and today I'm sharing the card I made.  It is a little book.
In  our Sunday school class we have been studying the book of Genesis for about a month.  We started with the creation and we are up to where Noah was instructed to build the ark on last Sunday.
Since we've studied the creation...I'm  using a quote by Henry David Thoreau about heaven.

"Blessed"

Good Monday, October 8, 2018
For those of you who have a day off due to Columbus Day, I hope you make the most of it.
Shop, sleep, relax, craft and do all those things that will make you happy.  It is a beautiful time to have a day or I should say three days to enjoy yourself.
My inspiration for the title came from one of the ladies at church on Sunday.  She always talks to me about how "blessed" she is to still be here on this side.  You have to understand as she does, that she almost didn't make it.  Day by day and week by week, her doctor in our area was not doing anything to prolong her life.  He had recommended a stay in the local Nursing home in which she was slowly getting closer to dying.  Her daughter became frustrated and looked for medical help in another area. She ended up having surgery on her heart and medicine was provided for other areas in her body that had started to not work properly.  Every Sunday that she gets a chance, she reminds all of us that are listening of how "blessed" she is to still be alive.  She is eighty-six and very active... putting some of the younger people to shame (including me).
My question to you...how did you wake up this morning?
Take a look at what I made using the inspiration from a church member:

"Two Fall Cards"

Happy Friday everyone.
It has been a long adventurous week for me.  I have not achieved the goal I wanted in the crafting department but next week is coming.   My space appears to be as if a hurricane or tornado went through my supplies.  I've pull out this and that and left it here and there to use later...and today I have to organize again.  When you hoard a lot of stuff, you know it is time to "DE stash".
I manage to come across images and stickers that could be used to make a Fall or Autumn card.
Treva really inspired me when I saw her card this week along with my finds in my stash of goodies this morning.  My thought: "I'll make a fall card".  I did and then I made another one.

Here, take a look:

"Craft Fair Project"

Hello everyone on this Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
Two days into the month of October have been very beautiful.  Some of the trees are beginning to have their leaves fall to the ground.  The vines and dead plants have been removed from the vegetable and flower garden..  We are packing up  items until the spring.   Insects are trying to find homes before the winter sets in.  I will usually check the clothing I wear outside when working to make sure I leave bugs and spiders outside...however those little annoying things still find a way to get inside the house.  Just this morning, my husband had to chase down a spider before it could hide itself from view.
I've been working on some craft fair projects for my daughter.  Today's share is a sample of something I did for her.  Since I have to send her a picture, I decided that everyone else would get a chance to view also:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

These are the round wooden pieces that I got from Amazon.  They measure approximately 3 1/4 by 3 1/2.  I used gesso and a coating of pink acrylic paint on the front and back of the wooden piece.  A small piece of lace was added to the bottom and then embellishments of flowers were added.  The little cherubs and angels are air dry clay that I cast from a mold.  She can sell them as a set for "faith", "hope", and "love" or as individual piece.   So far I have made two sets plus one more for the third set (seven in all as of this posting).
Here is the close-up for "faith".

Here is the close-up for "hope".

Here is the close-up for "love".

Thanks so much for viewing and for sending such beautiful comments my way.
You are always invited to return.

"Punching It"

Good Monday, October 1, 2018 to everybody.
It is a nice day in my neighborhood.  We're experiencing early morning crisp air and then afternoon heat.  What about you?  Are you enjoying your weather and surroundings?
As we enter the month of October, don't forget women that this is breast cancer month.  Many shows kicked off their opening with "pink, pink and more pink".  If you have not had those "pumpkins" checked with a mammogram, this is a good time to do so.  For you, your family and your friends...I'm included.
Today's share...I'm back to using a punch...hence the title of this blog post, "Punching It".
With the projects I'm making for my  daughter, I've kept my box of punches very close for the small cuts I have to make.  This morning, I decided to use one (punch) on both sides of a piece of cardstock.  I traced out a tag and use TH butterfly die to cut out a butterfly.  Art-C ephemera was used for the sentiment on the tag and near the butterfly.
Question:  when you finish using an item and the container is empty, do you or can you find another crafty use for it?  Look at that big faux gem on the fan at the top of my card.  It actually came from one of my Nuvo Crystal Drops bottle.  One day when it fell off the top of the bottle I almost threw it away but kept it thinking I would use it later and today was that day.
Here is your view:
Cardstock were various sheets that came from pads that I no longer have for identification.  The base is Kraft cardstock and for the punched layer and the front band, I've used Neenah white.
The butterfly top layer is white vellum.  It has gloss white Nuvo drops on the body. On the punch parts and on the band, I've use white glitter stickles.

Thanks for viewing.  Enjoy this day by living it, loving it, laughing at something funny and then repeat as many times necessary.
Come back again!

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois
