"Thanks Times Two"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.

I'm going to remind you to go to http://www.lilartsywoman.com to become a follower or to join my NEW site.
Due to the news of Google+ closing down in 2019, I've been busy trying to set up my new blog at Wordpress.
Before leaving, I made two cards today to thank all of you who supported me and showed me some love during the 2018 year.
Here are my THANKS card to you.  I basically pulled paper from my stash to make these two cards and used flowers to help bring out the love.  You know the saying..."give me my flowers while I'm living because once I'm gone I want get to smell the sweet aroma".

"Enjoy Each Moment"

Hello beautiful people.
It's Thursday and we're approaching another weekend.
We will not have snow but rain  and more rain  in the forecast for Friday through Sunday.  With the snow melting and being mixed with the rain, flooding is predicted for a lot of places.  To be on the safe side, it would be a nice weekend to stay at home.

This time of the year makes a lot of people anxious about everything...getting the house organized and decorated for the holidays...shopping for gifts for family, friends and coworkers and being overwhelmed with what to get and what will make them happy... cooking or ordering the meal and making sure everyone will be able to eat what has been fixed...preparing for a trip either home or abroad and making sure your luggage is not over the weight limit at the airport...THESE ARE MOMENTS and some of them are not enjoyable.  Anxiety seeps in maybe over these things and some others...not enough time ...not enough money...not enough etc.
STOP and put the brakes on.  Hold them down for as long as you can.  The holiday should not be about any of those things.  You should not go into debt trying to please people and to make them happy for one day out of the year.  If you don't have time to do major cleaning, do what you can and  if the guest make negative comments about a "dust bunny", show or tell them where the cleaning supplies are. Let them know that you would be very happy if they offer to help wherever they see a need (ha ha ha).  If people are coming over for dinner, announce in advance what will be served.  Let them know that they can bring their own covered dish or something to please their taste.

Each MOMENT should be enjoyed and I've created a card for your enjoyment.  Take a look:

Thank you so much for your continued support and beautiful comments.

"Going Pink For You"

It's Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
Happy day to you my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Snow is still on the ground due to the cold temperature.  It's lovely because it gives me a chance to craft without having to go on an assignment outside of my home.  I was promised a trip to Hobby Lobby.  I didn't make it last week and it pretty much looks as if  I will not be going this week either.

Let's count how many days before Christmas...fourteen.  Did you get the same answer?  Fourteen days before I can see my "Sunshine" again.  Fourteen days before I can see my daughter from Florida (she is coming home for the holiday).  Fourteen more days before we meet and fellowship with my North Carolina daughter, her husband and his family.   May God continue to bless me to be here for another fourteen days and beyond.

Pink...do you love that color?  Many times it represents women, womankind and femininity.  However, men appear to get into the groove especially with wearing pink.  Pink shirts, coats and pink neckties can be seen as a trend at least in my area.  Once upon a time, a man would be ostracized for wearing that color.  Trends are changing.
My share for today includes a lot of pink.  I'm sorry men, but I was focused on the/a woman today.  I'm still working on birthday cards for December and maybe start on some for January.  Here, take a look at my project and enjoy the view.

"It Doesn't Say Happy Birthday"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is Monday, December 10, 2018.  On the outside the three to six inches of snow is melting.  A few ice pellets did fall on top of it for a few minutes but not enough to amount to anything.  That's the good part...the ice stopped falling.  No one wants to slip and slide or fall down breaking a body part.  It (the snow) was very pretty yesterday as it fell from the sky.  Okay, my excitement came... I enjoyed it and since it is going away... I don't need to see anymore.

Birthdays  for the month of December:
I didn't forget you and I know we are on the 10th day of the month.  I was focused on Christmas cards and it entered my thoughts  that I had not made birthday cards for the people who celebrate in December.  I often wonder why November, December, and January  birthday people are forgotten.  Someone once said that those birthdays are so close to major holidays that you just forget the birthdays and concentrate on the festivities of the holidays.  If you miss those born in November...give them a gift at Christmas and say... this is also for your belated birthday.  It also can be said with January birthdays.  Give a Christmas gift and include a note that says, "this is for your birthday, also".
Here is a card for a recipient who will be celebrating a December birthday.  Where is the sentiment that says, "Happy Birthday",  I don't see one?  Don't worry,  it will be included (personalized) when I mail it.  Today, for your view, I intentionally left it off.

Enjoy your view:

Thanks for viewing.  Please come again.

"Snow Is On The Way"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Welcome to Friday, December 7, 2018.  It is going to snow in my area Sunday.  At least that's what the weather people keep reporting.  We did see some flakes on Wednesday.  They were falling so pretty but didn't accumulate to stay around for a long period of time.
My card share for today features a SNOW family.  They are "Snow happy to see the first major snowfall for this blogger's joy".
As I was telling someone on Wednesday, I like to see the first "big" snow.  I get excited like a little child and can watch it fall and feel good.  After the first one, I really don't want to see anymore.
Enjoy this card and also the one I made for a challenge using paper from Hunkydory "Christmas Past" and Heartfelt Creations "Winter's Eve".

"Where Are You Going For Christmas?"

Hello beautiful souls on this Thursday, December 6, 2018.
How many more days before Christmas?
How many more days before the end of the year?  I know you have finished all of those first of the year goals you said you were going to accomplish.  I said I was going to adventure into different craft mediums this year.  I was going to try to do some different things other than cards.  With the help of my daughter attending a craft fair, I would say I pretty much achieved  doing something other than cards.  I also entered a challenge in which I used paint, gel plate, alcohol inks, nail polish and other things.  I even used a plant from the garden to make an impression onto the cardstock.   But wait, the year  is not over with as of yet so I still have time to do something different before December 31st.
Are you planning on going somewhere for Christmas?
If you didn't make it to grandma's house for Thanksgiving, is she on your travel list?
What about going to another country for the holiday, is that in your plans?    Some soldiers are coming home while some are going away.
If not at Thanksgiving, then, at Christmas, all hearts come home even if your physical body cannot.
This is the inspiration for my card share today.  Take a look and enjoy:

"Memory Dex/Rolodex Cards"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Happy Tuesday, December 4, 2018 to you.
Are you counting?  Counting what, you may ask?   Well, it depends on where your thoughts are at the moment.  You may be counting the gifts you still have to buy.  You may be counting your money.  You may be counting the days before Christmas.  You may be counting the days before you can go home to visit family.  You may be counting your blessings.  There are so many things you could be counting.  Keep counting...no one is counting how many times or things you count (lol).

I finished watching a Youtube channel in which the host was receiving memory dex/rolodex cards for her birthday challenge this past weekend.   This  inspired me  to try to do one on my own.  They are not as large as a greeting card or the regular A2 size card (4.25 x 5.5) that are usually made.  The measurement that most people used was 4 x 3.  There are memory dex dies on the market to make a card or you  can make one on your own.  If you type in memory dex tutorial in the search box on Google, Pinterest or Youtube, I'm sure you will find one done by so many different people.

Here are five that I did for my share today.  I hope you enjoy the view(s):

This is one I'm adding as an entry to http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

There are too many items to name for my Enabler's List.  I can tell you that most of the DP came from Recollections Say Freeze and North Pole Gazette paper pads.  The images are from my saved die cut stash as well as ephemera from different companies.  Some items were printed from Google and some are stickers.  It appears that when I started making one, it grew into five almost six until I stopped for today.

Again, I want to thank everyone who reads this blog (hello Lindsey), who write comments here as well as on Google + and the other sites that I post on.  Your continued support is much appreciated.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"A Beautiful Poinsettia"

Good Monday to everyone!
Happy Hanukkah!
It's a blessing to be able to be here on this 3rd day of December 2018.  A dear church member was praising the LORD Sunday because of the blessing HE gave her son.  Her son was in a serious accident on Friday in which his vehicle was hit so hard by another vehicle.  It flipped several times so bad that the only way to get him out of it was to cut open  the back and pull him out that way.  When the vehicle flipped, the glass windows broke and his hands were damaged by being dragged out of the vehicle on the cut glass.  During all of this, God saved  his body (no internal injuries or broken bones only skin damaged to his hands).  At the hospital, his hands were bandaged and he was sent home praising the LORD.  Let me remind you with this true story that GOD is good and HIS mercy endures forever.
It has been reported that maybe, just maybe our area will receive the first snow of the season on Saturday, December 8, 2018.  This announcement prompted the inspiration for my card share for today:

Thanks everyone for you time, comment and support.
