"Give Me Some Cardstock And A Butterfly"

Happy Friday Everyone.
The weekend, the weekend is upon us...and we're happy and ready for it.  Three days...can you believe it?  Not only is the weekend upon us but it is the last day of August and the start of September tomorrow.  I think the children in my area  are the last group to be reporting back for the 2018-2019 school year.
I love to cut out a butterfly and put it on my cards.  Many of you know that about me.  Yes, give me some cardstock and a butterfly and I can create a card in a few minutes.  That's exactly what  I did this morning.  On my desk (which I've been trying to keep clean and organized), was a butterfly and a die cut this morning (not too many other  items that would go together).  I thought about fall since we are going into September and the trees around the edge of our property are loosing a lot of leaves.
Using the die cut and the butterfly, I found some paper in my stash that represented fall.  It didn't take long to cut out layers of cardstock and glue down the die cut and butterfly.
Here, take a look:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
For Friday, I'm back to doing a quick card share.

Thanks for viewing with me today.  Go out and enjoy your three day weekend and doing something fun, exciting and relaxing...I will.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Can It Be A Perfect Day?"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's the famous "hump" day... Wednesday, August 29, 2018.
It's extremely hot and humid where I am.  The temps may say 91degrees but the heat index is in the triple digits.   "Baby, it's hot outside".
I'm wondering if I make a Christmas card would I feel a little cooler...that's the joke of the day...laugh out loud.
I'm continuing with the September birthday cards.  Some I've shared and others I have not.  Today's card is a special one because it is made for my daughter's birthday.  She will celebrate on September 24.
I made the two hearts but didn't really want to stamp anything on them.  So, I went with the old adage...do it in odd numbers to balance everything out...this is where the third heart came into play.  I had my planner stickers close by so I selected "Perfect day".  Then, the thought came to my mind... can it be a perfect day?
Personally, I have never had a day where something didn't go wrong.  I would have made it through the work day and just before going to bed something would happen to spoil all the goodness that happened before.  Then, I've had days that started out bad but ended really well.  What about you?
I read an article that stated, "if you visualize perfection, it will happen".  On the day my daughter celebrates her birthday, I'll tell her to do just that...visualize a day of perfection.

Here is my share.  Enjoy!

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Bazzill pink; Hunkydory pearlescent white; Recollections Butterfly Garden DP
die: Nellie Snellen heart dies, Mauvy butterfly and Joy Craft corner die
embellishments: Prima and Recollections flowers; white lace; faux pearl string;

Thanks so much for taking time to view today.  Your comments are always welcomed.

"I'm Blue"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Happy Tuesday.  You have recovered from being back on the grind from yesterday and you're all smiles with a little pep in your stepping today...how great.  I know how hard it is to get out of bed on a Monday right after a two day break to head back to work.  Once you get through Monday, the rest of the week will seem like a breeze.
My grandchild is enjoying her back to school days.  We're waiting for two weeks from now when the heavy load of fifth grade homework start shifting in.  So far no complaints but we know it will not last long.  Don't get me wrong...she has no problems doing homework...it is the amount she has to do which cuts out some of her play time.  I've sent her a letter to keep the positive attitude going...letting her know that the further she moves up in grade levels , more work on assignments will increase... she can always play on the weekend.
For those September birthdays, I've made another card to add to the collection:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white; Recollections DP; DCWV The Far East DP
die: Spellbinders Romantic vine using PaperandMore silver cardstock
embellishments: white lace flower and ribbon; white netting; Nuvo gloss white drops

Happy Birthday to you if you're celebrating today or one of the days left in August.  Maybe you're waiting for September like some of my family and friends.  Anyway, happy birthday to you.

Thanks for viewing.  You know I love when you come to visit or catch a glimpse of my project on Google + or Pinterest.  You may not venture over to WordArtWednesday blogspot.com to view, but I encourage you to do so and to add your project (s) for a fun challenge .
Please come again.  Comments are always welcome.

"Just Because"

Hello everyone on this Monday, August 27, 2018.
How was your weekend?  Did you do great, fabulous things for yourself and/or with your love ones?
A teacher peer of mine just became a grandmother or as she calls herself "Mimi" this past weekend. She has another girl to play with and  to make her feel like a queen in her growing years.  I'm so excited for her and her family.
Speaking about growing up...in your youth, do you recall your parents saying to you "just because I said so".  Have you spoken that phrase to your child or to someone else..."just because"?
We do things that are expected of us everyday.  However, there are some days and times that we don't want to do those things for no particular reason.  When DH ask why do I always have to go into Michaels, JoAnn or any other craft store...my response is "just because" I may see something I want to buy..."just because" this 50% off coupon need to come out of my wallet..."just because" there is something new in the crafting world that I want to try..."just because".
Just because I had time to put some items together, I made a card for your viewing today:
Enabler's List:
cardstock: PaperandMore linen cream;  Neenah white;  K & Company DP;  Prima Havana DP
die: Spellbinders Romantic Rectangle
embellishments: Kaisercraft wooden elements; Recollections flowers; lace ribbon

Thanks for viewing.  Please come again.

Sending you a hug and love,

"TODAY"

Hello everyone on this Friday, August 24, 2018.
Are you excited?  I know you are.  You can see a day of relaxation on the horizon...can't you?  Maybe since the schools in our area will be opening after Labor Day, you're still shopping.  Maybe the young college student forgot some items and you have to take them to her or him this weekend .  Maybe it's not the items that are important, it's the empty nest that you're experiencing.
However, the weekend will officially start this afternoon and we, (you and me) will find something to do for enjoyment.
I was so quick and limited on my project yesterday due to my time and things to do.  Today, I've actually pulled out items to make something for someone's birthday in September.  The sentiment on the outside doesn't say "Happy Birthday".  It says "today".  The recipient will see the words "Happy Birthday" on the inside along with a special message.
Take a look at my creation:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
These are single sheets of cardstock that came from my cardstock bin.  They were sheets leftover from a pad or pads that I don't recall the name of the paper.  I was just trying to find papers, flowers and embellishments that I thought  would go together.  Since it will be officially "FALL" for this person's birthday, I was trying to find the "fall-ish" colors.

Enabler's List:
Recollections cream, orange and brown cardstock
DP striped and text cardstock (I have no name for these)
Recollections canvas doily;  hemp cord for bow: Sentiment from Dear Lizzy thicker (chipboard)
I used an Alina Craft tag die and Sizzix fall foliage die
The wooden bird is the only thing that was on my desk.  It is from Kaisercraft
The flowers are from Prima and Recollections

Thanks for viewing.  Enjoy your weekend and if you so choose, you may leave a comment.

Lois

"Just Writing To Say "Hi"

Hello everyone on this Thursday, August 23, 2018.
I'm going to be very short with my posting today.  So, so much to accomplish today with many things on my list.
I had paper left over from the project I did yesterday so I didn't try to do something extra.
I strictly used everything you see from the Recollections Field Study paper pad including the butterfly and the pen.
I cut several pieces of heavy cardstock the same shape as the pen to give it some stability and lift.  The butterfly was fussy cut from another sheet in the pad.  The sentiment "HI" came from a Prima Zella Teal chipboard sticker sheet.
The other paper used also came from Recollections.  The cream used for the card base and the brown used for layering.
I hope you enjoy the view and come back to visit again.

"Happy Birthday To You Using 49 and Market Flowers"

Happy Wednesday everyone.
I see that most of you have already posted your beautiful creations this morning.  They were very inspiring.  September is quickly approaching and this is another month with so many family and friends birthdays.  I started with a birthday card for the month of September today.
I used paper from Recollections Field Study paper pad;  the flowers came from 49 and Market vintage shades;  the sentiment is from Inkadinkado Express Yourself.
Take a look at my share for today.  I hope you enjoy the view.

"Creating With Stamperia Old Lace Paper"

Good day to all.
We've made it to another happy day.  Yes, the weather is rainy with severe storms reported for the afternoon...but, we are still here.
Over on the National Day Calendar the celebration is for Senior Citizens.  Now, why do I get a call wishing me a happy Senior Citizen day.  I got the call because as time rolled along,  I welcomed the opportunity and the privilege to be a Senior Citizen.  There are some benefits of being a Senior Citizen...discounts at restaurants, motels, shopping (certain days of the week), etc. I also welcome the opportunity to have obtained knowledge and information to pass on to this younger generation.  With some, I get respect and with others I do not.  However, all is still good...I have to love them in spite of the opposition and knowing that all people are not going to love me back.
So, that leads me to my sentiment and card for today, "With Love":
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock: PaperandMore yellowish cardstock; Recollections brown; Neenah white; DP from Stamperia "Old Lace"
die: Alina Craft and Hunkydory
embellishment: Nuvo gloss white drops

Thanks for the support and encouragement you have given.  It means a lot to know you appreciate something I'm doing and sharing.
Come again and enjoy the view.

"Trying Something Different"

Good Monday, August 20, 2018.
I hope your fabulous weekend was awesome.  I hope everything you wanted to accomplish went without any problems. I'm glad we could meet again on this wonderful day.

So the countdown begins for the next holiday...Labor Day... and another long weekend.
Let's get through August before jumping into September.

I saw a card on Pinterest with a design that I had not used before.  I've tried to duplicate the design but not necessary the card.  I'm using different items than what I saw on the card on Pinterest.
It looks like an envelope with the letter part sticking out at the top.  That's my interpretation.
You be the judge and take a look at what I made:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white ; Recollections embossed pink; Recollections The Butterfly Garden DP
embossing folder:  Sizzix Beaded Floral Stripe
dies from Alina Craft (tag and topper)
Martha Stewart doily
faux diamond trim and white ribbon lace
Prima flower

The first for me but will be using this pattern to create another card like this.

Thanks for your time in viewing this card today.  As always, your comments are much appreciated.

"Playing With Watercolors"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's Friday...and I'm so glad about it.
I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Aretha Franklin.  Her music was some that I listen to often when it played on the radio or if I saw her on the TV.  By listening to the stories on the news, I'm learning some things that I didn't know about her.  I'm sure in the next couple of days and weeks...more and more information will be shared about her.
For today's share, I'm returning to something fun and unexpected.
I dabbled in some watercoloring today.  I'm not an expert so don't be so hard on my image.  I think that is the reason I purchase so many dies to do what I can't do.
This was fun and I have to admit, I've been inspired by Sunny Qi who does a lot of scenery with watercolors.  Thanks so much Sunny.
Here is my share.

"Your Elegant Card"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
We made it to Thursday and all is well except I'm missing some  daily crafting friends.  There are some special crafting friends that I have not heard from in about two weeks.  If you are reading this...check your email or your blog post because I sent you a message on yesterday.  I'm concerned and want to know if everything is okay or if you're on vacation.
Question of the day:
When was the last time you had a birthday party?  Was it your tenth, sixteenth,  twenty-fifth, or thirty?  Maybe you have never had a birthday party at all. I remember giving my oldest daughter a party when she turned sixteen but with her sister...we didn't do anything on the grand scale.  Her party was with a few cousins eating cake an ice cream but nothing that she could include in a scrapbook.  Her birthday will be next month.  I'm thinking seriously about a party but  her schedule does not correspond with my schedule.  Maybe that's the reason I take the easy way out and give her some spending money so she can do whatever her heart desire... a spa day, a shopping trip for jewelry, a girl's night out...whatever.
I made a card to share today.  I was thinking of a  birthday.    I used silver, white and grey to add a little elegance  to the card along with a pink flower.  The more I look at it...the thought of a wedding also comes to my mind.  Therefore, I did not add a sentiment.  I'll have to keep this one on hand for someone's special occasion...birthday or wedding.

entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
What do you think?  Is it too formal for a birthday or should I keep it for a wedding or wedding anniversary card?

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white; Tonic Studio silver; Recollections grey (light and dark)
die: Alina Craft book ; Spellbinders Lattice Ornaments
embellishments: Prima flowers; lace flower; ribbon ; Jolee's boutique stickers; chards from die cut

Thanks for visiting and for leaving comments.  Please come again, you are always welcome.

"Wednesday Card Share...HOPE"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's a great day to greet you.  We've made it to the middle of the week and the weekend is not far away.  Today, what are you looking forward to doing this weekend?  Most families are moving college students into their dorm rooms.  Some are doing the "back-to-school" shopping.  Some are trying to get in that last vacation weekend before school start.  My teacher friends will be getting their rooms prepared next week before all of the meetings they have to attend.  Are you ready for a great school year...whether it is elementary, middle, high school or college?  Get ready, get ready, get ready.  Wait...I have some friends who are just finishing up their school year and are getting ready for a vacation break...it all depends on what part of the world you're living in.
"I hope"...as my grandchild and other students are saying...the teacher for this new school year will be a fantastic one.  "I hope"... as some people going to doctor's appointments are saying...that he/she will not find anything wrong.  "I hope"...as some are saying, that this world chaos of threats, shootings and bombings will cease.
What are you hoping for?
I'm sharing a card with that sentiment today:
an entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
I've used Neenah white; PaperandMore navy blue; and BO Bunny "Life In Color Bricks" pattern paper
A Tonic Studio dragonfly die was used as well as a book die and frame die from Alina Craft.
The flowers are a combination of Wild Orchid and Recollections
The sentiment "hope" is from American Craft bible journaling sticker.

I have "hope" that you enjoyed your view and will be returning again.  Comments are welcome.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Just For You...A Fun-Fold Card"

Happy Tuesday everyone!
We are just rolling along and going with the flow today.    The weather appears to be fantastic this morning.  Pretty sky with no clouds and no forecast of rain for today.  I'm going to take a brisk walk and enjoy the fresh air.
I'm sharing a fun-fold card with you today.   It has squares...two small ones and one large one cut in half.  Once the main card is scored, you place the squares on an angle and do a "pop up piece" for the triangle.  The remaining triangle piece is use for a pocket or you can delete it from your project.
The ballerinas are die cuts from Spellbinders  "Just Dance" die and the butterfly die cut comes from Tonic "Branwen  Briar" die.  The tags are die cuts from an Alina Craft die.

Enjoy the view:

"Stamperia Wonderland"

Good Monday to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
I'm not missing in action... I've just been busy doing some things that needs to be done.
Everything is okay.
Today, I'm sharing a card that some will call "shabby" or "shabby chic".    I've use paper from a Stamperia Wonderland pad.  A little stamping is done on a Spellbinders frame die cut.  Of course you know I had to put some flowers on this card. and instead of using a doily, I die another die cut from an Our Daily Bread Design.  I have ribbon lace that is shaped like leaves and I placed that under the distressed areas (especially created for their placement).

Take a look at my share for today:
enabler's list:
cardstock: Recollections light and medium pink as well as the taupe; Stamperia Wonderland; PaperandMore white cardstock
inks: black archival
stamp: Hampton Art Vintologie
embellishments: Little Birdie flowers; leaf ribbon lace
dies: ODBD gift bag; Elizabeth Craft Designs curvy leaves

Thanks for viewing.  Hoping you will enjoy the remainder of your day.

"Simon Says Stamp...Beautiful Flowers"

Hello beautiful souls.
Welcome to Tuesday, August 7, 2018.  We are moving along with our days, and time.  If you're still stuck in January trying to get your resolutions off to a great start, then, we will catch up with you next year.
This is the last month to enjoy some summer fun before school starts.  However, I do realize that there are some "year round" schools and some children are being taught as I'm writing this morning.  My granddaughter's little friend who lives in her neighborhood has already spent about four weeks being back in school.
It has been so much rain in the last two weeks and even yesterday.  The flowers in my garden are no longer beautiful.  As I enjoyed the morning view today outside my window, that is what I noticed.  It sparked my creativity.
I have had the "beautiful flowers" stamp from Simon Says for quite a time and tried to do something with it.  That project didn't turn out so good.  It went in the trash and the stamp went back into the storage container.  However, remember my adventure for this year...do something different...and if at first you don't succeed, then, try again.
Here is my share for today:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white; Recollections striped grey; Tonic satin pink mirror cardstock
inks: Distress Oxides (pinks and purple) spritz with water; black archival ink; Prisma color pencils
stamp: Simon Says "beautiful flowers" clear stamp set
embellishments: sequins

You may not be a flower but you are beautiful.  Have a glorious day with whatever you try to achieve.
Meet me here again tomorrow to see what I created.  Your viewing, commenting and support is what helps to keep me going.  Thank you so much.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"What's On My Desk...Friday"

It's Friday everyone and I hope you're happy about your weekend.  It has been such a rainy week in my area and still the forecast calls for more.  We will not be traveling out of town so I guess I'll find something to do in my neighborhood.
Today's card is a "what's on my desk" card for Friday.
I had some stickers on hand.  The cardstock was some I used earlier in the week from BoBunny.  The circles and border were already pre cut in a stash bag. The glitter glue was also used on a project earlier this week.  This was an easy card to put together...no die cutting or stamping involved...just paper trimming down to size and adding on the stickers.

Thanks for viewing today.  Come again.  You're always welcome.

Enjoy your weekend.

"How Strong Are You?"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Happy "hump" day as well as the first day of August 2018.
I greet you with the question of the day...how strong are you?
Well, what area are you referring you may ask?  Are you talking about physical, mental or spiritual strength.  Sometimes we are strong physically but fail in the other two areas.  The same could be said about having spiritual strength but weak mentally and physically ( I already know that this statement is going to be debatable with some people I know...I'm ready for the challenge).  If you visit a nursing home, you may find strong spiritual and mental people but physically they can't do anything for themselves.
It is just a question that sparked my card share for today.  I wanted to do something "beachy" and when I finished with the scene, the idea of using an anchor and the word "strong" came to my mind.  Since it is Wednesday, I also wanted to do something for my bible journaling share.  If you read the Bible, I would like for you to read Ephesians 6: 10-20 and see what commentators say about "strength and being strong".

Card Share:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Enabler's List:
Cardstock:  light blue Bazzill,  black Recollections,  DP from Recollections "Turquoise Woodplank"
die: Spellbinders Shoreline and die from Alina Craft
embellishments: sea shells from the beach (gift from my granddaughter) , the word "Strong" came from Prima Zella Teal and the anchor came from Prima St. Tropez

Now that you have finish reading and viewing, are you ready to answer the question "how strong are you?  If not, you are still invited to come again to see what I have worked on to share with you.
Thanks always for your time and comments.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois
