Defining "LOVE"

 Happy Wednesday, February 2, 2022

Okay, let's see what has happen that makes you carry on a conversation.  Washington's NFL team is now the Commanders.  Groundhog Day 2022: Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, meaning we're in for 6 more weeks of winter.  Who is singing the national anthem at Super Bowl 2022?  ABC suspends ‘The View’ host Whoopi Goldberg for saying Holocaust ‘not about race’.  A gunman shot and killed two campus officers at a private college Tuesday, prompting a protracted campus lockdown and search before the suspect was apprehended, state police and school officials said.  ‘Take back life’: More nations ease coronavirus restrictions.   How many of you really care about the news?

How many of you really know the meaning of LOVE?  So, you grab your dictionary to see what's written and you repeat what you see ( an intense feeling of deep affection: a great interest and pleasure in something).  Is it your definition or the definition given by someone else?  If you think about it...  Love is the deliberate act of valuing someone more than you value yourself. Love is the deliberate act of caring for, and listening to others. Love is wanting others to succeed, to be happy and fulfilled.  God made us to love and to be loved. God loves us. Sometimes, we in the church don’t reflect God’s love as well as we should, but God is love.
