Shamrocks and a Feather

Hello Friends, Followers and Viewers,
It's Friday and we are making plans to have a fabulous weekend.  What's up with you and your weekend?  Snowboarding for those people still with snow.  Surfing for those with sunny, hot weather.
Gardening for those who are experiencing  a climate for planting. Casino day/night for those who want to have fun and a little luck while doing so.   Just  have a little fun!  Saturday night, don't forget to "spring forward" your clocks because daylight saving time begins on Sunday.  You will lose an hour and will not get it back until this fall.
I've not been very busy today creating (only one card made which I call very clean and simple).  I do want to share some shamrock cards that I did last weekend and the clean and simple one I did this morning:
"Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day" computer generated sentiment
green,  black and white cardstock with green polka dot patterned paper for mat
Celebrate It ribbon, die cut hearts,

"Lucky Me! I've Got You" computer generated sentiment
green and white cardstock with strip of green polka dot patterned paper for ribbon
die cut hearts and 2 brads ( a green and a yellow)

white cardstock for base and mat
feather was die cut on mat
patterned paper was glued to base
mat was popped up with foam  dots

Thanks for your viewing time.  Have a nice, fun, relaxing weekend.
Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

Crafting With Flowers and Dies

Welcome Friends, Followers and Viewers,
Have you ever tried to get a start on what you are going to work on in the crafting world the day before, the night before or the evening before you actually make something?  For an example, you're thinking about doing a scrapbook page.  So, you gather the pictures you are going to use and pick out the paper for the background and you put all of this on your working station so that when you start the following day, you can easily zip right along.  Maybe you are going to work on a greeting card, you basically do the same thing with getting all your items ready so it want take you long to complete your task.  How about that next morning, noon or evening when you are ready to start, your thinking process change and you end up making something else.  This is my morning crafting friends!  Yesterday, I received some shimmer sheetz and foiled cardstock in the mail. Just before I ended my crafting hour, I cut strips and embossed them for a project that I wanted to do this morning. I just couldn't get my thoughts to go the way I wanted them to this morning. So those strips were pushed aside and out came the flowers, the Spellbinders dies and the punches.  It wasn't a lost cause! Here see for yourself:
White cardstock, mint green patterned paper, computer generated sentiment, Spellbinder flower die, Prima flowers and EK punch.

white and grey cardstock, Prima flowers, Sizzix flower die, Martha Stewart punch, and computer generated sentiment
Here is a card from last Friday evening that I had not posted.
dark blue and cream colored cardstock, polka dot patterned paper, computer generated sentiment, brown string, blue brads
If you had been at my house last night and or early this morning, this is what you would have seen on my work desk for today.  That project never got made but I want you to continue watching/viewing because this will not go to waste.  Maybe tomorrow,  I don't know.  The mind works different according to other elements (lol).

Thanks for viewing.
Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

FUN DAY, FUN DAY

Hello Friends, Followers and Viewers,
Oh what fun it is to craft.  I'm having that kind of moment.  If I didn't have other things to do, I believe I could work in my craft room all day long.  I can't, so don't get jealous.  I'm also having fun and learning something new  with the prompts at Embrace your Art 365.  If you haven't check this group out, please go to www.tiaresmith.com and see what the excitement is all about. We had to "sugar skull" a while back.  I'd seen them but didn't know that was what they were called until the prompt called for me to put my take on one.  This week, Roy Lichtenstein.  Never heard of the guy before.  I do know something about him and I can attempt to do something related to his work.  I'm always saying, "you need to learn something new everyday".
Well, here are my fun projects for today.  Most of them are the prompts for Embrace Your Art 365 with an extra that I did for myself:
Prompt #63 Roy Lichtenstein

Prompt #64 Paper Bag
Prompt #65 Fluffy

My Fun Card

Thanks for joining me today.  Come back to view again.  Have some fun today.

"TIME" and my 1st Shamrock

Happy Tuesday Everyone,
Here is something to get your thought process activated this morning.  When someone just says "time", what is the first thing that comes to your mind?  I'm going to guess that most of you after reading the question, immediately thought of a clock.  I'm right along with you, so did I when Tiare said this would be one of our prompts for this week.  She also mentioned clocks when she pulled the prompt out of the jar.  Well, since the prompt came out of the jar, I wanted to think outside the box about "time".  Google and I are the best of friends when I want to research or add more than required to something I'm interested in. At first glance, it seems obvious, what time is: it is the ticking of the clock, the turning of the pages of a calendar. But really these are just incidental physical manifestations of the underlying concept. Time is widespread and an essential ingredient of both everyday life and all manner of academic thought, but its fundamental nature remains tantalizingly difficult to enclose. Perhaps the best and most comprehensive overall definition is that time is
a dimension in which events can be ordered from the past through the present into the future, and also the measure of duration of events and the intervals between them.
My thinking led me to my Creator.  His time is not like our time. A verse that I like to read is this: "He has made everything beautiful in it's time...Ecclesiastes 3:11".   This card really represents "time" for me:
Prompt #62 "Time..Ecclesiastes 3:11"
Grey, white and black cardstock
Die cut ginkgo leaves in cardstock and vellum
Spellbinders Nestabilities use to cut out sentiment
Scrap piece of Olfay ribbon.

This next card is the traditional way of thinking about time when it comes to measuring:
"Time is precious...Waste it wisely"
white, burnt orange and cream colored cardstock
Darice embossing folder
Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks
3 faux rhinestones

Speaking of time, it is time for St. Patrick's Day on March 17.  No need to wait!  I got started today.  Here are two cards for the occasion:
Bazzil green and cream cardstock with DCWV patterned paper for mat
handmade flowers with scrap cardstock and shamrock made with 3 die cut hearts
Sentiment from computer
2 faux rhinestones for flower centers
It's not a sham, you Rock!
green, white and black cardstock
Celebrate It Ribbon
Sizzix Embossing Folder for top mat
Sentiment from web
handmade shamrock using six die cut hearts
green Friendship thread

Thanks for taking a little "time" to enjoy the view today.  Don't waste your "time", it is too precious.
I'm also entering this page in the Scraps of Color Blog challenge!

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

Black, White and Red

Hello Everyone,
It is Monday!  Glad to be back with you today to share in the crafting world with you.  Yesterday, in our area we were still experiencing a wintry mix of freezing rain/sleet.  The trees were glistening with ice. The weather men kept saying "happy 1st day of spring".  I had to check my calendar to see if a change had been made because I've always thought spring came on March 20th.  The calendar was correct and so were the weather men. When does spring begin?  Meteorologically speaking, however, in the Northern Hemisphere the official spring season always begins on March 1 and continues through May 31. Happy Meteorological Spring! The season began yesterday, but mother nature didn't care (Astronomical Spring begins March 20th). Instead of flowers starting to bloom, and milder temps, we still have below normal temperatures and snow.
Another news tip: National Craft Month is March.  Did you know that studies show that arts and crafts aid in our emotional well-being and can help to reduce stress?  It is just plain fun to make stuff.  How many of you agree?  I reduce my stress every day by doing something in the craft field.  Today, I have three cards made for prompt #61 @ Embrace Your Art 365, MojoMonday and Can You Case It #59.  They all incorporate black, white and red.
Card for MojoMonday #387

Card for Can You Case It #59

Card for Embrace Your Art 365 prompt #61

Thanks for spending a little time with me today.  Come back again.
Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois
