Hello followers, visitors, friends and viewers.
Happy "Fat Tuesday" (Mardi Gras) to all in New Orleans or just celebrating wherever you are. This is the day before Ash Wednesday...the beginning of Lent (March 6 - April 20). Do you participate in the forty days of the preparation of the believer for Easter through prayer, doing penance, repentance of sins, almsgiving, and self-denial? The Lenten season is a time when many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial and spiritual discipline. The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ--his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection. If you plan on "self-denial", then what are you giving up for the forty days?
I've made a card today for a March birthday recipient.
I did a rosette using cardstock from DCWV the Butterfly Garden Stack.
I used three sheets of paper from Prima Spring Farm House paper pad (8 x 8) along with cardstock (red) from Bazzill; black from Recollections and Neenah white.
I put a red doily from Recollections between the two paper pieces and a piece of ribbon over the center of my punched black piece using a Martha Stewart punch.
