"Listen In Stillness

Happy Wednesday friends, followers, visitors and viewers.  We are into the first full week of April 2022.  How are things going for you?  Are you able to venture out to places that you yearned for two years ago? Are you planning trips abroad or staying within the USA borders?  How is your health being that we were practically cooped up for a period of time, wearing mask, and staying a distance away from family and friends?

I reflect on two years ago.  We or I basically became still...silent and listening.  Psalm 4:4, "Be angry, and do not sin.  Meditate within your heart on your bed and be still."   While we appreciate the convenience of technology, it does come with a cost: the huge temptation to feel a greater sense of urgency throughout the day.  We have to check our email, reply to that message, listen to this voicemail, or return the phone call.  Those of us who text, tweet, and post items to Facebook, Instagram, or other social media sites rarely disconnect.  We are continually overwhelmed with demands for our attention.  Periods of silence, where we can cultivate inner stillness and wait for the promptings of the Holy Spirit, are increasingly rare.  Yet, as Habakkuk realized, it is in those moments of quiet reflection that we can hear God's voice.  Find a quiet place where you can disconnect from the world and fellowship with the Father.  When you are still your thoughts, what does He say to you?

I will be still and know that you are God.
Dear Load, I'm going to dedicate myself to you daily and disconnect from the demands of my technological reality so that I can hear from you without distractions.  In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Love,
Lois

"It's The Twos Tuesday"

Hello crafty friends, followers, and viewers.  It is 2-22-22.  Happy Twosday! Don’t miss out celebrating the coolest date of the decade.  According to Megan Marples, CNN, "Good things come in twos. At least this Tuesday it does.  The date is February 22, 2022. When you write it, 2/22/22, it’s a palindrome, meaning it reads the same forward and backward. It also falls on a Tuesday, which is now referred to as Twosday.  It’s the most exceptional date in over a decade, according to palindrome enthusiast Aziz Inan. He’s a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Portland in Oregon, and he has been studying palindrome dates for over 14 years.  It’s a ubiquitous palindrome date because it’s a palindrome when it’s written in the United States format of month, day, year, and the format most other countries follow of day, month, year, Inan said.  “I feel that these dates have magical power in terms of getting people’s attention, no matter what age,” he said.

Has these numbers caught your attention?  Do you think they are magical?  Will you play them for a chance to win on a lottery ticket?  Tell me about it.

My bible journaling card 2-16-2022
This will be used as an encouragement card.  We need to step back and examine our lives daily.
A "Little Birdie" canvas piece with distress inking and lace were used to create this card.  It will be added to https://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
I had a purple and yellow kind of feeling.  I had to find those colors among my cardstock and other mediums.

Thanks for viewing.

"Getting Inky On A Friday"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
We are celebrating the first day of March as well as the beginning of our weekend break.  So far, it is another rainy, wet day and it will be the same on the next two days.  This has been going on for the last three weeks.  I shall remain calm and craft on!
Starting this morning, I got "inky".  I love playing with inks of all kinds with no idea how the project is going to turn out.  I get the paper, the inks, the daubers and just start spreading or as most crafters say, "blending".  I can never do it like the pros so I go with my own style and whatever outcome...it looks good to my eyes.  Here are the two projects I'm sharing with you today:

Enabler's List :
cardstock: Recollections blue, yellow and black.  Strathmore Bristol smooth surface paper
inks: Distress Oxide (vintage photo; picked raspberry; peacock feathers; fossilized amber)
stamps: Designs by Ryn; Wendy Vecchi Script; Julie Nutting "Kyoko"
stencils: Gabrielle Pollacco Mini Tuscan Wall; Faber Castell mixed media
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

I had an inky good time creating these two projects.  With the remainder of today and tomorrow...I'll continue to get inky.

Thanks for viewing and have a glorious weekend.

Sending you  a hug and love,
Lois
