"Water Color Wednesday"

Hello Viewers, Visitors, Followers and Friends.
 
What do you do on a day that is wet, dreary and has a forecast of a tornado and severe thunderstorm threat?
You stay inside and play in water.  Water with color.  You use stamps and you color the image with water color, that's what you do or in my case, that's what I did.

Now, before you look at the pictures and start criticizing, I am in no way an expert.  Novice is what I consider myself when it comes to any kind of painting and or water coloring.  This has been my fun.
Instead of going outside to get my feet wet, I got my fingers and paper wet.

Keep in the back of your mind....this was her fun.  There are no challenges or contest that I wanted to enter so I did what I wanted to do with some tools that I had to do it with (keep the criticizing to yourself...it is her fun, not yours):

 

What you see here are two cards that look almost the same.
The base is an A2 (4.25  x  5.5) piece of Neenah white cardstock.  On top of the base is a piece of black Recollection cardstock cut 1/8 inch less than the base.
Ranger watercolor paper was used as the focal mat for the stamping and coloring.
Penny Black's blooming garden clear stamp was used on both and stamped in the same manner.
The card on the left has a combination of turquoise, green, yellow, pink, orange and black water colors.  The card on the right has a combination of yellow, pink, red, green, orange and black water color with two and a half die cut butterflies and two lady bug stickers.

This card has an A2 base of Neenah white cardstock followed by a piece of black Recollection cardstock;  a piece of metallic foil from Craft Smith followed by Ranger water color paper for the focal area.  The water colored paper was stamped with a Stampendous  Bouquet For You stamp and then water colored.  Colors used were mint green, orange, brown, and red.  Tim Holtz's bird was stamped and water colored using orange and yellow then cut out and adhered to the focal piece.  A computer generated sentiment  was added.

Larger #1 flat brush was used  to apply water for a wet on wet application

Fluttering Friday Fun

Hello to Friday,
Friends, Followers and Viewers you are ready to have some fun.  I can tell from where I am that you just can't wait.  With this being the last day (1/2 day) of school, temps in the 90's and that extra personal leave day...let's flutter down to the beach or up to the beach to have some fun in the sun.  Let's just go shopping for that Father's Day present.  Pull out that grill and let's barbecue something.
Today is Friday and it is fluttering by quickly because we're thinking of all the fun to come.
I'm feeling the fun so these are my card shares for today:

In Loving Memory
The retired secretary of our Special Education Department passed away as well as a lady in our community.  This was done in loving memory of them and their families.  I used black, green, and peach cardstock; floral cut with punches; prima flowers and a Martha Stewart butterfly.

Gratitude
I used white, black and red cardstock; watercolor paper that incorporates the use of a Tim Holtz's stencil in the upper right hand corner; a piece of newspaper with the jar and flowers stamped on it.  The flowers were colored with Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pens and the background incorporates Pebbles pearlescent chalks; two Martha Stewart butterflies.

This is a card that I combined  various prompts for another website  challenge; prompt #157 red, orange, and blue (flowers); prompt # 158 window; prompt # 159 little (flowers); blue cardstock with blue and white pattern paper; die cut window, butterfly and flowers;

Did you notice the use of a butterfly or butterflies on all these cards.  That's for the fluttering part of the title.  Go forth and have some fluttering Friday fun today or this weekend.  You deserve a break.  I'm giving you two days.  Come back on Monday to see what's happening in my crafty world.

MOJO with Akashiya Sai and Penny Black

Happy Monday and  Memorial Day to all,
This is a day  on which those who died in active military service are remembered.  We also take this day to visit the graves of our love ones and place wreaths or flowers on them.
I received some new items and I thought I would share them with you today while participating in the challenge at MojoMonday.blogspot.com. (MOJO 399). I'm learning how to watercolor and stamp in the craft department.  So for this very moment, excuse the mistakes. I'm using suggestions from Pinterest and YouTube.  I'm going to practice until I can become proficient.  My new items are Akashiya Sai Watercolor Brush Pen (20 Color Set), Penny Black's blooming garden clear stamp set and I also picked up Pentel's Aquash Brush  water brushes.

Enabler's List: black, yellow and red cardstock, strip of newspaper; Darice embossing folder; Penny Black blooming garden (poppy); Akashiya Sai watercolor brush (red); Aquash Brush with water; foam dots. Technique: the poppy was stamped on the newspaper and also on watercolor paper (pieces from the water color paper were cut out and adhered to the stamped image...giving it a 3D look), then the paper was torn around the flower and adhered to the second mat from the card base (black).  This base was adhere to the 1st mat (yellow) and then adhered to the card ( 4.25 by 5.5). The top mat (red) was torn around the newspaper and adhered to the black mat using foam dots for a 3D effect.
