"I'M NOT SCARED"

Good Monday to all the beautiful people on this August 5, 2019.  Just a few days into the month and tragedy strikes again in Texas and Ohio.  Why?   For what reason?   Who is to blame?
Have you ever been sick and tired of being sick and tired of absolute sinful, thoughtless behavior of some people?  There are too many beautiful places to visit and too many places to do business.  After wishing you a fun-filled weekend to relax and enjoy yourself, I'm wondering if some of my crafting friends lived in any of these areas where the shooting occured?  I do  know that a friend on Scrapbook.com lives in El Paso, Texas.  She is okay.
Our pastor preached from this book and verse on Sunday...2 Timothy 1:7.  His title was "I'm Not Scared" or "I Ain't Scared" (realizing that it was incorrect English but trying to get a point across).

Fear is real and I'm not denying or suppressing it.  I have fears and I'm fearful of some things ...crawling bugs, snakes,  some animals, threat of tornadoes and hurricanes, etc.  What about you?  I can't stay behind closed doors in my home being afraid or fearful of going out in public.    I cannot be afraid of the unknown because we have good news about facing our fears.
Terror exists, people perpetrate horrific crimes against innocent victims all the time. Our minds were created to elicit a fear response in these situations in order to preserve our lives. But this is not the fear that God is speaking of when He is speaking about fear. God is speaking of the daily anxieties and fears, the what ifs that can leave us debilitated and non-functional. God is saying to His children, that even in those moments that scare you, where you are unsure and afraid of what could happen, in those moments, fear not! It is those moments to which God is saying “I have not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, of a sound mind.”
Accept that you will feel fear but choose today to not let that feeling control you. Go and do what you were called to do, even if you feel afraid. The reward and benefit from not letting fear immobilize you, are beyond understanding, but they will always be better than living a life paralyzed by fear.
