"Remain Focused At All Times"

Hello family, friends, followers and viewers.

We have officially made it to Monday, August 10, 2020.  What a year it has been so far.  How many of you continued with your goals you set for this year?  I know I have not and it is not because I didn't want to.  My desire to get out more often and visit people and places was cut short in March due to Covid 19.  Even though we are gradually opening back up in some places, it still doesn't feel secure enough to visit.

Question or thought for today:  How often do you take your focus off of what you're doing or attending to for a moment or period of time?  On yesterday I started working on the card that I'm presenting to you for today.  I needed to get it finish due to something else I want to do today.  Making cards and cooking at the same time do not go hand in hand especially when you are using two different rooms and running back and forth.  I had something on the stove while at the same time trying to adhere a die cut to this card.  I rushed to put the glue on and stuck the die cut down while rushing back to the kitchen to make sure the water in the pot had not boiled over.  By the time I got back to the craft space, I noticed my sentiment was twisted out of place.  Am I throwing this card away...NO.  It has a lesson for all of us in what happened, especially in the biblical realm:

Distraction is the nemesis of focus. We are constantly tempted to pull away from a consistent focus on Christ. As a result, we often find ourselves being tossed to and fro by the concerns of life.  Our minds are constantly bombarded with thoughts about ourselves, work, family, friends, finances, and much more. Even when we determine to pray and study the scriptures—our minds can float away to other places rendering our time with God as fruitless. It is when we discipline our mind to focus on Jesus and what He has done in order that we may have eternal life—we are changed. Pay attention to when your thoughts wander and ask the Lord to help you discipline your mind.

Just like the placement of this sentiment on this card, our minds and thoughts can get twisted from focusing on God. Wearing eyeglasses helps many of us see more clearly. Otherwise our world would look like a blurry mess. Focusing on the Lord instead of our needs or wants takes great discipline. We must be willing to lay aside our fears, worries, or anything that seeks to drain us of hope in Christ. He knows what we need and when we must absolutely have it. Our focus should and always remain grounded in faith that God is in control. Take some time today to clean your spiritual glasses so you can see more clearly the Lord who loves you unconditionally.

Have a blessed and happy day.  Thanks for viewing.

Sending you a hug and love,

Lois
