"How Are You Preparing Your Hearts For Resurrection Sunday?

Hello crafty friends, followers, visitors, and viewers.  Happy Wednesday with much love to you.  Praying and hoping all is well with you in your part of the world.  Well, Sunday will be Resurrection Sunday or Easter as many refer to that title.  Recently, a preacher said in my presence, "Easter doesn't appear in the scripture".  I calmly said, "it does, I have read it." On this particular occasion, I had a New International Bible in my possession ( that does not mention "Easter") and not the King James Version (which does). . Actually, the word “Easter” does appear in the Bible, but only once—and only in one translation. Among all major English translations of the Scripture, only the King James Version uses the word “Easter. "If you search your Top Bibles in Logos for “Easter,” you get just one hit: KJV, Acts 12:4.  I wish the preacher could read this blog commentary.  Sometimes attending seminary does not teach you everything about the bible in all of its translations.

Are you excited about the biblical story of Jesus being hung on a cross dying for my sins and yours?  Or, you hear this story every year and leave Jesus on the cross never accepting his resurrection early on the first day of the week.  Does he remain on that cross all year for you?

While Easter has largely become a mainstream holiday, its roots are in Christianity alone. With the commercialization of Easter — including candy sales, egg hunts, and appearances from the Easter bunny — it’s easy to overlook the true meaning of the holiday.  In many streams of Christianity, Easter is even more important than Christmas. Why? Because it celebrates Jesus’ divinity and the purpose of His coming to the earth. The Easter holiday commemorates Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and His promise of eternal life to all who believe in Him. Christians believe: that Jesus Christ came to earth, died for the sins of humanity, and defeated the powers of death through His resurrection. Easter is the yearly celebration of this miracle and the hope for believers of their life in Christ, which includes the forgiveness of all their sins and the promise of their eternal life.
