"A Quick Card For Friday"

Hello everyone on this Friday (the last day in November 2018).
Once again we've made it to the weekend.  What's on your calendar or on your mind for this two -three day break?  Shopping, shopping and more shopping!!!  As I was talking with one of my daughters this week, I made this statement...people will be shopping all the way up to Christmas Eve.  Then I joked about those people who at the very last minute will shop at a 7-Eleven or Starbuck on Christmas morning before arriving at Grandma's house.   Some of us just love the decorations in the mall or in the shopping centers.  Some of us just love to be around a large group of people.  Some of us are watching to see if the price on a certain item will go down before the last minute.  Some continue to shop online to avoid all this drama.
I did a quick card this morning.  Basically, because the majority of the supplies were on my desk from earlier this week.  I had a desire to do a shaker card but just didn't want to hassle with it this morning.  If all goes well, then, maybe I'll do  one next week when I will have more time.
Here is your view for today:

"More Than A Tag"

Hello friends, visitors, followers and viewers.
I'm so happy to have you  to come and visit with me today.
I'm having a good time going through packages of paper that I have in my collection.  The paper I'm using today has been around a long time.  When I had a pad with no more than a few sheets left, I put the remainder of the paper in a sheet protector envelope and filed it in the bin.  What I failed to do...label it with the name of the pad the paper came out of.
Nevertheless, I started with the idea that I was going to make a Christmas tag.  It ended up being more than a tag....much to the effect of a card.
Here, take a look and tell me what you think:

"BELIEVE"

Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Have you had your cereal or pancakes this morning?  Are you planning on cooking that pork roast for this evening?  Maybe you own a small business and today, you just want to be "heard".
Those are just a few things coming from National Day Calendar.

Yesterday, I wanted to know if you were dreaming.  Today, I want you to "believe" your dream is coming true.  Whatever you're thinking or praying for, just believe it will happen.
In honor of Women's History Month (March) and the celebration of  INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY - MARCH 8, 2017 , I  will join in to #BeBoldForChange!   I know and believe that women are outstanding individuals (you and I are prime examples).
Quotes taken from  http://www.cnn.com/2017/03/02/politics/womens-history-month-politics/ Women have  sacrificed much and worked hard in pursuit of a better world, where peace, dignity and opportunity can reign.   As we make headway on the crucial issues of our time, let the courageous vision championed by women of past generations inspire us to defend the dreams and opportunities of those to come.
I'm proud of our achievement but still believe better things will come for our gender.
WE  MUST   BELIEVE!!

I'm using Neenah white cardstock; Bazzill pink cardstock; Design Paper from Michael's .
Offray ribbon and American Craft hemp cord.

I've also used a Sizzix scallop die and Spellbinders Fleur de lis die.  A Sizzix Big Shot was used to cut out die images.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Please come again.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"Is It Watercolor or Distress Inks...Can You Tell?"

Hello Friends, Visitors, Viewers and Followers.
It's another great day to do something good for someone else in your neighborhood.
What do you have in mind?   Grass cutting...washing windows...fixing the fence...weeding the flower or vegetable garden...taking someone to the grocery store...cooking a meal... cleaning the house or just a room in the house...calling to check up on the individual.
Whatever you  do, your kindness will not go unnoticed.  Don't expect the person to repay you...just do it from the love in your heart.  Make someone's day better than they expected it to be.
Now, for the question I'm asking...can you tell if a piece of paper has been water colored or was distress inks  used to color it?
Take a look at this picture and see if you can tell?
***this is two different cards....I took the photo of both cards side by side so you can decide which is water colored and which is distressed with inks.
Ready for the reveal?

FLY
cardstock: Neenah white, Recollection dark green and black; Ranger water color paper

stamps used: Tim Holtz Visual Artistry and Recollection Mixed Medial
Challenge Entry: wordartwednesday.blogspot.com Challenge Weeks #234-235 - Anything Goes

Believe
cardstock: Neenah white, Recollection dark green and black; Ranger water color paper
stamps used: My Art C stamps and Stampology  Fancy Flourishes
Sticker: Studio 112 spotted canary

Here is the technique used:
On "FLY" the paper was water colored...on "Believe" the technique was with Tim Holtz's distress inks.
I know my iPad didn't do justice to the images but the original shows the distress inks being more vibrant than the water colors.
However, this little lady loves both techniques.
Watercolor or distressing....what's in your craft room?

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois
