Hello to all the beautiful people on this 7th day in November, 2019.
Questions for you...
How long can you stay quiet when you are not sleeping?
Can you quiet down for a period of time and just listen to what is around you?
I'm in a conversation/lesson with someone who keeps saying they do not hear God speaking to them.
What about you? Can you be still long enough to hear the Master's voice?
There is “A time to keep silent, and a time to speak” - Ecclesiastes 3:7. Being quiet can be a struggle, but it can also be a good virtue to have. The Bible commends those who are able to keep the peace and listen, however, discourages being quiet due to timidness. Through God's words we can be empowered to speak out for it can lead to great things.
Being quiet and still drives us nuts! But we are told in Scripture to seek God in the stillness -- not in the noise and busyness of life.
If there is one thing that drives us almost insane... If there is one thing that we cannot stand...If there is one thing that makes us uncomfortable it’s...Silence.
We will rarely find God in the hectic moments in our lives, but we will often find Him in the quiet moments.
How often do we ask God for everything, but we don’t stop to listen or to be still? The act of being still and getting quiet becomes more of a challenge in our hectic world. The world asks us to be busy. God asks us to be still so that we can receive love, peace and guidance. Quieting the mind, shutting up the mind requires practice. One powerful way to shut up thoughts that don’t serve us is by practicing meditation. Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.” Meditation helps to renew the mind, to be still, to let go and surrender, to shut up the thoughts that do not serve us.

Be quiet for five minutes with your mind centered on God and feel HIS presence.
