"Make The Best Out Of Any Bad Situations"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It's Monday, March 30, 2020.  One more day before we enter the big month of April.  We've been fooled enough with the Corona virus so there is no need to think of a good/bad joke for April's Fools' Day.
Bad or ridiculous situations can be the best experiences you may have.
I listen to a minister yesterday.  This was his second week of preaching "live" on Facebook.   He admitted that he didn't think that much about Facebook or having a Facebook account.  He actually thought Facebook was a ridiculous thing to participate in until the virus outbreak.  In order to reach his congregation and other people around the world, he was encouraged to use the Facebook Live to post his sermon in actual time to as many people who could log in.  The views he received for his first broadcast surprised him.  He didn't know he had reached thousands of people (more than the number in his congregation) on line.  What he thought was bad became good for him.
Some of us have been laid off from jobs and put into social distancing beyond our control.  This has had an impact on emotional and social well being.  We can’t control bad situations, but we can control how we react to it.  It’s our mind and logical thinking that should be leading our lives. Doing that, we can stay on top of our goals.  Problems do not go away.  They must be worked through or else they remain, forever a barrier to the growth and development of the spirit.  You must take life the way it comes at you and make the best of it.  When you have a positive attitude, you see the solution to every problem. Instead of feeling bad for yourself, you seek ways on how to win over the situation.
There are things that we can’t control. The only things we can control are ourselves, but there’s really nothing we can do about the external forces. What do you do with things you can’t control? Will you just cry about it?  There’s not much you can do about it anyway. You’ll just stress yourself out thinking about it.  So, how can you make the best out of a bad situation?  Embrace each day as it comes.

"Best Friends"

Good day to all the beautiful people.
It's Wednesday, March 4, 2020.   Did you vote on Super Tuesday?  I'm not asking for the candidate you voted for but I'm happy if you voted.
This month of March is dedicated to women.  It is called "Women's History Month".
Check out some of the facts:
" Women’s History Month is a celebration of women’s contributions to history, culture and society and has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987. The 2020 theme, “Valiant Women of the Vote,” pays homage to the 100 anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. The theme honors "the brave women who fought to win suffrage rights for women, and for the women who continue to fight for the voting rights of others." Women’s History Month 2020 takes place from Sunday, March 1-Tuesday, March 31, 2020.   Why Do We Celebrate Women’s History Month?
Women’s History Month is a dedicated month to reflect on the often-overlooked contributions of women to United States history. From Abigail Adams to Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth to Rosa Parks, the timeline of women’s history milestones stretches back to the founding of the United States.
The 13 women being celebrated this year are: Maria Teresa Kumar; Eleanor Holmes Norton; Terry Ao Minnis; Edith Mayo; Lucy Burns;  Carrie Chapman Catt; Wilhelmina Kekelaokalaninui Widemann Dowsett; Ana Roqué de Duprey;  Elizabeth Piper Ensley; Marie Foster; Dr. Mabel Ping-Hua Lee; Virginia Louisa Minor; and Anna Howard Shaw.

"I Believe In You"

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is the last day of January.
Are you still keeping those resolutions you made on January 1st?
Are you still in the gym or did it become a nuisance?
Have you really cut back on your food consumption?
Guess what.....the Super Bowl is quickly approaching and you may be saying to yourself  "I can go off my diet for one day"....or "I'll indulge and work out an extra day at the gym".
There may be other things you vowed to do in 2017...  Getting rid of the excessive baggage that has been holding you down or making you emotionally drained.  You stepped out on faith and decided to go it alone with your head held high.
Whatever your goals...I believe in you.  What goals you made on January 1st will still work during February.  Stay focus.  You can do it...believe in yourself as I believe in you.
Let's take a look at what I put together for you today:

"The Unused Craft Bend"

Hello Friends, Followers, Visitors and Viewer.
I want to say I'm doing Spring cleaning but it doesn't feel like Spring.  So, I'm just organizing some things in my craft space.  Do you like that better?  I sure do!  While organizing, there were many (I'm just astonished ) things that I haven't used in over a year... (don't tell).
This is my pattern... I see something that I think needs to be among my crafting supplies...I look for sales...I buy...I use it once or twice...I file it...I forget I have it...then when I clean up...it's like shopping all over again... (but this time it is free to use).
Who else is like this?
I came across some Spellbinders dies that I have only used once or twice.  The last time I  used them was about two years ago.  I decided to use one today on the card I made for your viewing:

For the Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white cardstock, dark blue Recollection cardstock
and a pattern piece from  DCWV Stack 7
die: Spellbinders Classic Triple Scallop
Sentiment: Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text "Never give up"
Embellishment: Martha Stewart butterfly
used the Sizzix Big Shot to cut out the die.
Entry: http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

Stay turned for  other dies and materials that I have not used in over one or two years.  I surprised myself with what can be achieved with "the old".
Thanks for viewing today.  Come back again!!!

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

Are You In Control?

Hello Followers, Friends and Viewers,
The weather report was right on target for this past Saturday.  It snowed!   It was pretty and even better for some, it didn't stick like it did in some other parts of the state.
Remember when I talked about the National Calendar Day.  Today we should be celebrating National Doctors Day; National Pencil Day; National Take a Walk in the Park Day and National I Am in Control Day.
My doctor left my area and I’m looking for a qualified person to replace or take the place of my primary care physician. I’ll leave this one to someone else.  I've used my pencils especially the eraser part so much that I need some brand new ones.  Any takers on sending me some?  I’ll celebrate this one.  It is raining and a little too cold to walk outside today.  National Take a Walk in the Park Day will happen later on this week but not today.  National I Am in Control Day.  Yeah, this one is really for me when I get my crafting items in front of me.  I cut, glue, punch, stamp, color, etc., to my heart’s content.
So, take a look at what I could control today…

Supplies and Technique: beige Bazzill cardstock cut at 3 ¾ wide by 6 inches long; DCWV Heirloom stack for mat on top (it was a postcard that I just cut around and glued on top of the cardstock); DCWV the Timeless Type Stack and Botanique Stack was used for the patterned paper inside the card cut at 3 5/8 by 5 7/8; a piece of burlap 3” by 3” was folded into the shape of a vase and pinned down with two brown brads; Martha Stewart flower stickers (6 of them) were placed down followed by 2 Recollection floral embellishment; Sentiment came from Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text.  There you have it, another clean and simple design.

You let God guide you and be in control of your doctor, how you use your pencil, how you take that walk and whatever else you do today.  Thanks for visiting and enjoy the remainder of your day.
Sending you a Hug and LOVE
Lois
