"That Amazing Grace"

Hello to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
We've made it to the middle of the week and I hope all is well with you and all the other people that surrounds you.

It's Wednesday and I know I haven't been able to keep up with my schedule of posting my scripture/journal cards each Wednesday as promised.  However, I was determined to do it this week on time.  I thank God everyday for giving me this gift and allowing me to create and share with others.  Therefore, I try to show my love toward HIM by creating something that express the joy of studying HIS word and passing it on to others.  Not only do I Hide His Word In My Heart, but I also try to show it with the gift HE has given me.
We can't do a thing without God's Amazing Grace.

My first step in creating this card ... I used a white linen piece of cardstock from PaperandMore   and my Martha Stewart scoring board.  I scored diagonal lines across the entire piece.
Next, I took out my abandoned coral Distress Ink and lightly colored over the top of the cardstock.  I used NUVO Crystal Drops in gloss white on each of the connecting lines.
Using the Big Shot machine, I cut out the Lace Frame and Cross Flower die (Alina Craft)  using paper from Hunkydory (lace frame) and another piece (mauve) from PaperandMore. I also used a silver piece from my stash for the cross flower to be a shadow behind the mauve.
I wanted the words Amazing Grace to fit like a cross and Google had the exact image I was looking for.  Otherwise, I would have used my word processing file and created one myself.
Where the flowers are on the cross, I used three green Doodlebug Design chunky brads for the center of each flower.
Take a look at how all of this came together:

We are in the Lent season and well on our way to Easter.  Do you know about that amazing grace ... a gift from God, and it is offered to everyone freely, even a “wretch like me,” as John Newton put it so well in the hymn “Amazing Grace?”

Thanks for viewing and thanks for your past comments.  Come again and enjoy your view.

"What's In My Stash...Friday"

Hello visitors, viewers, followers and friends.
It's Friday, June 16, 2017.
We made it to this day and will be looking forward to the weekend.
Some of our weekends will extend beyond Sunday.  We will not know what to do with ourselves since there is no workday for Monday.  Go ahead, sleep late, but I know that is not possible until your body get adjusted to not having to jump up at a certain time.  Enjoy your time, you deserve it!

If you're here for the first time, my busiest day is on Friday doing some important things.  When I craft, it has to be quick and fast.  What I had started doing...pulling items out of my stash containers (cardstock, die cut-outs, sentiments, etc.) to make a card.  It's my way of challenging myself.

Today's card:
  1. I started with my die-cuts bag to see what image I wanted to use...I pulled out a tea kettle and cup that I had cut out using the Flower Market CTMH cartridge and Cricut Expression (I had to think where it came from).
  2. Searching through my regular cardstock, I found a piece of water color paper that had been distressed and also used for another die-cut.  It was almost enough to use for the focal base on my card.  I had to think how to make it longer.  I kept looking for another piece of cardstock to make it 4.25 x 5.50.    While pulling out cardstock, a little piece that matched the distressed cardstock fell on the floor.  It was the appropriate size and color.
  3. I needed a sentiment that would fit the cup and kettle so I pulled out my "coffee" stamp set by Fiskars called "Latte Love".  I didn't see any sentiment from this set that I wanted to use.  However, the steam from the coffee cup gave me an idea.. why not use something from the bible for a sentiment.  I had not completed this task during the week.
  4. I used my computer and printer to make the sentiment "May the LORD pour out His Blessings on you today!"  This didn't exactly come out the stash so let's say this is new. Also, I wanted to highlight the kettle a little more, so, I added NUVO white crystal drops.

I will enter this over at http://www.WordArtWednesday.blogspot.com.  If you visit that site, you may see some other inspiration.

Have a blessed weekend my  friends.  Thanks for viewing and come again!

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"I Believe In You"

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is the last day of January.
Are you still keeping those resolutions you made on January 1st?
Are you still in the gym or did it become a nuisance?
Have you really cut back on your food consumption?
Guess what.....the Super Bowl is quickly approaching and you may be saying to yourself  "I can go off my diet for one day"....or "I'll indulge and work out an extra day at the gym".
There may be other things you vowed to do in 2017...  Getting rid of the excessive baggage that has been holding you down or making you emotionally drained.  You stepped out on faith and decided to go it alone with your head held high.
Whatever your goals...I believe in you.  What goals you made on January 1st will still work during February.  Stay focus.  You can do it...believe in yourself as I believe in you.
Let's take a look at what I put together for you today:

"NUVO Crystal Drops"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is so good to be back with the crafting world this morning.
I missed you and I tried (just for a little bit) to peek in to see what you were doing last week.
I couldn't devote  a lot of time on the internet with you due to spending time with my granddaughter...but I'm looking forward to your creations this week.
Nuvo Crystal Drops... have you seen or heard of this product?
I sometimes watch a show call "Create and Craft".  They have promoted this product and demonstrated it on the show.  I didn't purchase from them but instead waited until Joann's had a sale and I bought the gloss white just to give it a try.
I'm not getting paid to review this item...so I'll just tell you...I really, really, really like this product. Since experiencing with this one color, I've gone back to Joann's website to order some more (while they are running another sale).
Here is the card I made using it:
Materials
cardstock: Neenah white; pink and black Recollection
stamp: Martha Stewart clear stamp set frame border punch
ink: Studio g pigment  in various colors ( mauve, blue, green, gold, and pink)
embellishment: Nuvo crystal drops gloss white

Notice that the flowers were stamped in various clusters around the sentiment that had been printed on the cardstock before it was cut out.
I used a ruler and a pink Sharpie to make the dotted lines under the words.
The Nuvo crystal drops (gloss white) were used in the center of each flower

I've often used glitter glue to make dimensional dots on my cards but it has flatten out.  These drops remains in its dimensional position (the best part of this product).

Again, I'm not promoting or selling this product....if you would like to try it, Joann's had it on sale.

Thank you for viewing with me today.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois
