"Creating With Desk Leftovers"

Happy Friday to all the beautiful people.
Weekend, weekend,weekend,  I'm on my way.  I need a break from "doing".  Can you do this...can you do this...what about doing this....I need you to do this.  "Doing" is going away this weekend and I'm going to be selfish.  I need a break.  Come see me on Monday when I have relaxed from "doing".
Just to clear my mind and focus for just a few minutes this morning...  In cleaning my desk, I decided to put together an item from here and there to create a card.  Nothing to jump up for joy about but it saves from throwing good stuff away.

After fixing several cards this week for a client, I had items left on my desk that I really didn't want to pack up for later or to throw away in the trash.  The paper came from Stamperia and Hunkydory.  The flourishes were from Tim Holtz die.  The bird, oval frame and ribbon were in a bag of small items that I debated about using on some of the other projects.  The flower is three layers of old, old pieces that I still had.  I put them all together to finally get rid of them.    As I stated, this is nothing to jump up for joy about.  It will eventually go in the box to be given away to the "soldiers".  I'm sure someone will find a person to pass this card to in the future.

Please join me in taking a break to relax, rejuvenate and rejoice this weekend.  Life is full of unexpected surprises and we must take care of our mind, body and soul.

"Grow Through What You Go Through"

Good Thursday to everyone.
In our neighborhood it is cool and misty.  This makes a very good day to do several things...read, relax or craft.
I'm doing the last one at the moment...crafting.  I will read a chapter or two out of my John Grisham book .. relax a little  before I start with my evening activities.
Still within the line of "fall-ish" items, I used a puffy pumpkin  along with puffy leaves (stickers) on my card today.  The paper (ODBD) behind the TH (paper dolls) girls had a fall look.  I paired everything with a sheet from Bo Bunny Aryia's Garden Collection.
Question:  Every time that you have gone through a trial or a painful situation, did you grow by learning something or are you still angry about what you had to endure?   Most non-Christians are basically still angry.  They walk around and talk about..."why did this have to happen to me".  Most Christians will get angry but will not stay angry because the small voice inside of you that gives you peace and guidance will direct you to the lesson that you should have learned during your test.
Pain is going to come in our lives.  God puts pain there to speak to us.  If you listen, HE is using it for a teachable moment or teachable time.  If you don't listen, the adversary maybe trying to turn you away from God.  It's your choice as to whether you grow through what you're going through or you're mad with the Master teacher and remain uneducated.

"Paper Dolls"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Welcome to Monday.
Did you lovely ladies enjoy your Mother's Day weekend?  I did.  It was such a lovely, glorious time with family and friends.  Now that all mothers have had their day...let's start planning for the men...Father's Day.
Congratulation to all the college graduates this weekend.  Now that you have that degree under your belt "the adventure begins".  A new attitude...a new job...a new state to live in...a new apartment (you can't live with mom and dad forever)...a new country (maybe)...there's so much to explore and to think about.  I hope you didn't wait until this weekend to start making plans...they should have been done months ago.
But, "the adventure"!

Today, I've used a paper doll from Tim Holtz collection to make this card.  Even though college graduation is over, we still have to think about those coming out of high school getting ready for college.  This is a card that can be used for that purpose...high school graduation.  If you're late congratulating a college grad (male), then, this could also be a card for him.
