"That Amazing Grace"

Hello to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
We've made it to the middle of the week and I hope all is well with you and all the other people that surrounds you.

It's Wednesday and I know I haven't been able to keep up with my schedule of posting my scripture/journal cards each Wednesday as promised.  However, I was determined to do it this week on time.  I thank God everyday for giving me this gift and allowing me to create and share with others.  Therefore, I try to show my love toward HIM by creating something that express the joy of studying HIS word and passing it on to others.  Not only do I Hide His Word In My Heart, but I also try to show it with the gift HE has given me.
We can't do a thing without God's Amazing Grace.

My first step in creating this card ... I used a white linen piece of cardstock from PaperandMore   and my Martha Stewart scoring board.  I scored diagonal lines across the entire piece.
Next, I took out my abandoned coral Distress Ink and lightly colored over the top of the cardstock.  I used NUVO Crystal Drops in gloss white on each of the connecting lines.
Using the Big Shot machine, I cut out the Lace Frame and Cross Flower die (Alina Craft)  using paper from Hunkydory (lace frame) and another piece (mauve) from PaperandMore. I also used a silver piece from my stash for the cross flower to be a shadow behind the mauve.
I wanted the words Amazing Grace to fit like a cross and Google had the exact image I was looking for.  Otherwise, I would have used my word processing file and created one myself.
Where the flowers are on the cross, I used three green Doodlebug Design chunky brads for the center of each flower.

We are in the Lent season and well on our way to Easter.  Do you know about that amazing grace ... a gift from God, and it is offered to everyone freely, even a “wretch like me,” as John Newton put it so well in the hymn “Amazing Grace?”

"Amazing Grace"

Hello friends, followers visitors and viewers.
With the holiday on Monday, today seems like Tuesday instead of the middle of the week.  But let's jump and shout for joy...it is not that many more days before another weekend.

I'm trying not to get anxious about hurricane "Irma".  If she makes landfall in Florida, my daughter may or may not be adversely  affected by this phenomenon .  Not only Florida, but the weather forecaster are predicting that it will travel up the east coast...that means VA will feel some of the effects.  Pray with me dear readers that she and all the other Floridians will be safe.  I've told her that material possessions can be replaced at some point but your life...once gone,  cannot .  If they tell her and the people in her area to evacuate...then do so .
I'm depending on God's Amazing Grace and this is the title for my card.  God holds everything in His hand:

 

My top focal layer is a piece of Bazzill peach cardstock.  I cut out two die cuts from the heartfelt creations raindrops on roses die using the peach as well as the Neenah white cardstock. The negative cut from the peach provided the backdrop for the white die cuts.  Three different flowers were layered together and two die cut pieces from the peach cardstock were tucked and adhered behind the flowers.  Ranger coral liquid pearls were added around the die cut pieces.  I will enter this card at http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com for the Anything Goes weeks #298-299.

"Amazing Grace"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers on this Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Just a reminder if you didn't remember,  Sunday is Mother's Day.  If your mom is still here with you, get her something nice or take her to a "good" place to have a nice dinner. 
I no longer have my mom to celebrate with...but, I still have the memories.

My card for today has a ballerina, a small piece of music and a background made by using the cork, gesso and distress crayons.

I must confess that the cork sheet which comes in 12 x 12 was cut down to different sizes  and applied with gesso last week.  The gesso pieces were saved and has been used for several projects. The piece today, was the the last piece in my stash. Therefore, since it turned out so well (almost like a canvas), I'm going to take another sheet today and apply gesso so it can be drying for other projects in the future.

• I could not decide on which image to use... ballerina left as a silhouette and the other one with clothes.  I like the plain silhouette better...what do you think?

•  a piece of DCWV cork was cut to size, applied with gesso to cover the pattern and to make it easier to color.  Using different distress crayons, color was applied to the gesso piece of cork.

•  once I was satisfied with the distress coloring, I used a Teresa Collins "Life Emporium" sheet to apply the images onto the canvas. 
• I found the sheet music from Google and reduced the size using my word processing program and my printer.  The edges were torn and black archival ink was used on the edges.
• The musical stave (Amy Design) was cut using dark brown cardstock and my die cutting machine.  It was placed over the music sheet.
• The ballerina was placed to the left of the music sheet.

• The canvas piece was layer on top of Recollections black cardstock followed by a piece of DCWV Stack 7 designer paper.

"Amazing Grace"

Hello friends, followers, visitors, and viewers.  It is already looking as if we are going to have a great day.  The rain has stopped and the temperature is rising toward a warm and beautiful day.  Tomorrow will be a better day to get back outside to plant some flowers I picked up on Saturday since the ground is still wet.

This is a special note to all who commented and reassured me that distress oxide on dark cardstock was suppose to look the way it came out on my project, yesterday.  You all are  awesome friends in the crafting world.  Thanks for your expert advice.  I will not list your names....but you know who you are.

For today, I've used cardstock from DCWV "The Far East Stack",  Heartfelt Creation "Botanic Orchid Collections, black Recollections and a striped blue piece out of my stash.
The stamp I used comes from American Craft "Bible Journaling.  The die cuts came from Spellbinders "ferns" and the flower is from Petaloo "Textured Elements".
The tag and butterflies are like the striped piece of cardstock...they were in my stash and I have no company's name to give you.

I'm getting back to my scriptural and bible journaling roots today.  "Amazing Grace" (death on the cross and after the resurrection)...Through the grace of God, the gift by grace has abounded to many through Christ; yet multitudes choose to remain under the dominion of sin and death, rather than to apply for the blessings of the reign of grace. But Christ will in nowise cast out any who are willing to come to him. (Ro 5:20).
Grace is amazing, don't you agree!
