"Finishing Slimline and Christmas In July"

Happy Friday, July 24, 2020 everyone.
According to the National Calendar, today we celebrate our cousins.  It would take a long list to name each and every one of my cousins.  So, to make things short and sweet...Happy Cousin Day to all my family.  The other celebration is national tequila day.  Since I'm not into drinks of this nature, go ahead and cheer one on while thinking about me.  My card share for all my cousins:

We love because God loves us.  No matter what position or status we are in...we give love.  Thinking about all of you out there and around the world.
I can never not post what I do for my bible journaling each week.  This week was focusing on the soul.  What does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and lose his SOUL.
Restoring the soul: It means that the Psalmist finds refreshment, in the guidance and provision of the Lord who is his shepherd. The refreshing paths in which God guides his sheep are the ‘paths of righteousness’ or ‘right paths’ in the sense of one’s life journey. His life is meaningful. He knows that God will always intervene (guide) in a loving and caring way, and this gives him much comfort and restful peace.

Okay, my people, I've decided as of today, these are the last two cards for Christmas in July.  I will start making more Christmas cards around October and November.  I've also enjoyed making the slim line cards during this week.  I have one more that I have not posted and probably will not.  All will be placed in the box that I send to the soldiers.
Again, all of these were posted to my Instagram account.

Have an enjoyable weekend .  Continue to be safe and social distance yourself.  Come again to the card party next week (lol).

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Fascinated With Slim Line Cards"

Hello friends, followers, and visitors.
Happy Wednesday, July 22, 2020.  I will not complain about the weather.  It is hot and humid with a heat index that tells you to stay hydrated and inside if you can.  That's exactly where I've been.  I've only ventured out to put trash in the trash can and have found things to do inside.
I have found a love for slim line cards.  Don't worry.  It is only going to last a short while.  I recently bought envelopes for the regular  4.25 x 5.5; 6 x 6;  and 5 x 7 cards.  I can't have a bunch of envelopes sitting around without using them.  That's the reason I said this fascination with slim line cards will not last long.
Since it is still Christmas in July, I've made some cards to share with you also.  I'm getting another box ready to send off to the soldiers before the deadline for Christmas cards.
Take a look at what has been posted to Instagram and other places:

"Are Your Statues Coming Down?

Hello family, friends, followers and viewers.
I'm still here and came to ask you a question and to check in on you.
Are your statues coming down?  That's the question of the day.   I don't know where most of you live or how important you view statues, but are they being removed?
Statue ...a carved or cast figure of a person or animal, especially one that is life-size or larger.
Here in Virginia, statues are being removed.  Why? The removals have been driven by the concept that the monuments continue to glorify white supremacy, memorialize an unrecognized government whose founding principle was the perpetuation of slavery, and that the presence of these Confederate memorials over a hundred years after the subjugation of the Confederacy ...
Virginia has always been the state with the most Confederate statues, but in recent weeks, and especially in the city that was once the capital of the Confederacy, the statues have been coming down. Construction crews removed Stonewall Jackson and Matthew Fontaine Maury from Monument Avenue in Richmond last week, and more statues are expected to come down.
Should Confederate statues be removed?
That is why monuments glorifying them and their cause should be removed. Leave monuments marking their participation on the battlefields of the war, but tear down those that only commemorate the intolerance, violence, and hate that inspired their attempt to destroy the American nation."
What's your view?
Today, I'm sharing all the cards that have been posted on Instagram along with the one I made today:
"HOPE" using a Julie Nutting doll and TH die

"Collect Adventures Not Things"  a beach inspired card

"I am marvelous...I may be wrong, but I doubt it"
A card showing my quirky side but also using the beach scenery.

For You is a card to share with someone for no special occasion.

This was made on Monday, July 6, 2020.  I used Sizzix  and Spellbinders dies along with a Prima flower and the leftovers swirls from a TH die.  The typewriter is 3D sticker from Prima

"Believe In The Magic" is today's card
I'm posting my first Christmas In July card that does not go with the traditional Christmas atmosphere.
Sometimes you just don't want the jingle, the sleigh, the Santa and reindeer or the holly and elves.  You want to celebrate with something from your garden.
