"Just For You"

Good Monday, April 30, 2018 to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
I'm hoping you had a fantastic weekend and really did something enjoyable.
This morning has been a great time to put a card together for your viewing.  I received an e-mail on Saturday that had the headline..."Just for you".  When I open it...the invitation was to shop with % off for shopping on that site.  That's where I received my inspiration for this card today.  Titles in headlines can and cannot be misleading at times.  Yes, the invitation was "just for me" to spend some money as well as so many others.  It wasn't personal where I was the only one invited.  However, this card will become personal for someone because I only made one of this kind just for one person.
Take a look at what I made:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

My oldest daughter is not a mother but she is the aunt to our grandchild and her sister's little girl.  Mother's Day is going to be celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May and I don't want her to be left out.  So, I'm going to send her this card for being a loving aunt to her niece and to let her know we are thinking of her as well as our other daughter during the Mother's Day celebration.  I guess you can say, we find ways to celebrate each other even when it's not your day.

Enabler's List:
cardstock came from Neenah white, Recollections yellow and Hunkydory pattern paper
dies used: Sizzix garden greens; Spellbinders Swirl bliss; Spellbinders Elegant Ovals
embossing folder: Spellbinders M-Bossabilities "roses"

Thanks for taking a little time to view with me today.  Your continued support and comments are always welcome.  Please come again.

Sending you a hug and love,

"What's On My Desk...Friday"

Hello on this Friday, April 27, 2018.
Yes, it is the last work day for the week.  Yes, it is the last Friday in the month of April.  Yes, you can begin to prepare for the weekend (two days off).  What will you do with yourself and with others?
I have no major plans.  I've seen too many physician offices this week and I just want to focus on my own home surroundings.  With the weather being so wet, I don't even want to be out on the major highways in the heavy traffic.  Colleges are closing and the young adults are trying to get home.  Some people are trying to slip to the beaches to have a little fun along the shore line.  I'm sorry to say this but crazy people are out there with road rage.  It happened this week.
Home is where you will find me this weekend...again.

Using items on my desk as I usually do on Friday:
All of the die cuts were cut out weeks ago.  I used some paper that corresponded to the colors of the flowers and put this card together.  The sentiment was one that I had placed on my desk at the beginning of the week.  I had the desire to make a special Mother's Day card for one of my sisters but it never happened...so, if I don't send this card to one of them (seven), it will go in the box where I save cards to send for the soldiers.
I remember that the flower dies were from Spellbinders and the doily and corner piece are from Trimcraft.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone.  Thanks for viewing.
Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

"Enjoy The Journey"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
What's on your agenda for today...Wednesday, April 25, 2018?   Have you stopped to think about that this is the last full week in April?  Next Wednesday we will be in the month of May.  The time and calendar is moving along...are we staying with it or do you feel left behind?
When someone says to you "enjoy the journey", what do you think it means?  A trip by some mode of transportation.  A reflection of where you've been in your life and where you want to go now.
Moving on in life after a difficult time.  A promotion on a job that you've worked so hard for.  Graduation from high school and going on to college.
No matter which of those suggestions you choose, your journey should and can be enjoyable.  Move all the excessive baggage out of the way, smile and be happy.  You only live this life once...make the most out of it.
My card share today was inspired by a quote on the Carta Bella Spring Market paper pad.  I used the majority of those items along with a die cut from Spellbinders.
Take a look:

Enabler's List:
cardstock: Neenah white;  Recollections black and light pink

Let today be an enjoyable journey for you.  Do something that you have never done before in a good way.

Come again and enjoy the view.  Thanks for your continued support.

"Happiness Blooms From Within"

Good Tuesday, April 24, 2018 to all my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
I hope you are not having a rainy day in your neighborhood...I am...and it is a good one.  It washes the pollen away and it makes for a very relaxing day.  Tomorrow, I'll be able to breathe better without my allergy meds.
Very calming and an encouragement to craft all day or until I get tired.  I'll put on some soft music and cut , glue, stamp and color away.  That's my happy!!!
Speaking of "happy"...my inspiration for today comes from a "Spring Market" (Carta Bella) sentiment..."happiness Blooms From Within"
Take a look at the card I made:

" Mother's Day Or Any Other Special Occasion Card"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Welcome back from an enjoyable weekend.  I hope you had a great time doing something fantastic.
Today, I'm sharing another card that can be used for any occasion.  It depends on what you want your sentiment to reflect.  I've photographed this card both ways...with and without a sentiment.  If I choose to use it in the next couple of weeks...it will become a Mother's Day Card for someone.  Or, it will be saved for later.

"Are You Having A Beautiful Day?"

Good Friday to my friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Well, today is the beginning of a weekend adventure for some.  Especially for those who don't have to work this weekend.  Maybe you will do some traveling, sightseeing or shopping.  Or you just may do that one thing you have craved all week and that is to rest, relax and regroup for next week.
Taxes are done and paid, now on to more relaxing things to do.
We have bright sunshine but windy conditions outside today.  It looks beautiful from the window but when you step outside, you should have on something to keep you warm.
Still, it is a beautiful day.  Beautiful because I can sit here and type a post to you. Beautiful because of your ability to look around yourself and see, hear, feel and experience the great pleasure or satisfaction of your surroundings.  Beautiful because of just the simplicity of the "little things" that you admire...sometimes it doesn't take much to do that.  Beautiful because of what is in the eye of the beholder.  Everyone doesn't see beauty the same way...that's what makes us so different from one another.
Here is my card share on "Oh What A Beautiful Day".  Remember, it is Friday and I'm making it clean and simple using what is on my desk...something that I can put my hands on quick and fast.  For today, it was a paper pad and a book of planner stickers.

Enabler's List:

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments and continue to come again for enjoyment!

"Faux Pearls and A Butterfly"

Good Wednesday friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
I was inspired by the pearls worn by a favorite lady and I wanted to make something that reminded me of her.
Here is a card using faux pearls and a butterfly fluttering in the beyond.
Thanks for taking the time to view with me today.

"An Impossible Card"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
April 17, 2018...Tuesday.
How is it going for you today?  Did you file your taxes on time?  Did you file for an extension?  Is all of that behind you and you're waiting for your refund?
Too many questions...I know.  Let's move on.
The Impossible Card...sounds weird doesn't it.  This title on YouTube made me stop to take a look at what was going on.  Check these out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgGYZSr4zV0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZqOqLGrs0M  and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Mf9Eq1PBxg
These ladies really explain how to make this kind of card.  I was inspired and had to give it a try.
Yes, I'm working on Mother's Day cards (my second share for today) but Teacher Appreciation Day is the first week of May.  I had to do something for my granddaughter's teacher.
Take a look.  I will enter this at http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

"Friendship Card Using Spellbinders Dies"

Hello friends, visitors, followers and viewers.
Welcome to Monday, April 16, 2018.  It is the day before tax deadline day.  Hopefully if you're not ready you will file an extension to keep the government from coming after you.
I've been receiving a lot of advertisements for tax free shopping from many craft companies.  It is so inviting but I'm going to hold my ground and not buy anything.  I'm running out of space to put anything in my craft area and I can't work in chaos.
I've been working on Mother's Day cards.  I put that aside for today and did something for "friendship".    We meet people.  We retain people for friends, and often we have to let them know that they make/made a difference in our lives.  Words are good but little trinkets and cards can be saved  for memories.
Here is the "Friendship" card I made for your view:

Enabler's List:
cardstock: PaperandMore white; Recollections green
DP: Hunkydory; Prima Lavender
dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Elements Floral Ovals; Spellbinders Paper Arts Curved Borders Two
Embellishments; 49 Market Garden Seeds Sandcastle handmade flowers; purple tulle
Sentiment: It's the friends we meet along the way that help us appreciate the journey.

Thanks for your viewing time.  I appreciate your comments, votes and likes.  Please come again.  I always enjoy knowing you made a visit.

Sending you a hug and love,

"Assemblage Not Superstious"

FRIDAY, April The Thirteenth

Hello friends, visitors, followers and viewers.
How many of you are superstitious?  Today is Friday, the thirteenth of April.  Many people are reluctant to use any Friday the thirteenth as any other ordinary day.  Many consider this an unlucky day.  Some of us cannot pronounce the words that goes with this date (paraskavedekatriaphobia and friggatriskaidekaphobia)—that describe fear of this supposedly unlucky day.  Yet when the thirteenth falls on a Friday, there are some people who are so uncomfortable.
I've put together an assemblage of items from "here and there" for a card today.  It is Friday and I challenge myself to use what is so near... on my desk.

"Happy Memories"

Good Tuesday, April 10, 2018 to all.
It appears to be a bright sun shiny day.  A happy feeling for sure.  That's what I'm using for my prompt (the sunshine) along with the celebration of National Siblings Day!
What?  Is that really a celebration day for your brothers and sisters when it is not their birthday...yes, it is.  National Siblings Day was founded by native New Yorker, Claudia Evart in 1995 to honor and celebrate siblings.   Visit the website for more National Siblings Day information at  http://www.siblingsday.org/.
If you don't live near your siblings (I don't), make sure you give them a call, text, instant message, tweet,  snap chat, or Instagram to let them know you are thinking about them today.
Here is my share:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com
Since I will not be near my siblings today, I do have happy memories of them.  Nine of us are still living and one has passed on from this side of the world.  So, memories of our past as well as a few weeks ago are happy ones.
Enabler's List:
cardstock: light blue from PaperandMore; yellow and patterned paper is from Recollections (Michaels)
the tag is a die from Alina Craft
the image and the words are from a Bo Bunny ephemera sheet
the feather is from a pack bought at Walmart
the white embellishment is Nuvo crystal drops (white) along with Recollections trim

Have fun with your siblings today or just sit back and let the happy memories roll through your mind.

Sending you a hug and love,
Lois

" The Mini Frames"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
Welcome to this Monday, April 9, 2018.
How did you do this weekend?   If you lived in my area, it was cold and wet with rain and snow.  There was not enough snow for accumulation but traces of it was left on the roof top as well as the grass and cars.  Enough for you to know that it did fall from above.
We didn't do anything exciting.  A very relaxing weekend.
I started some die cutting on Saturday for today's card.  I used five different dies because I wanted to do something in the miniature design and I needed the smallest dies I could find in my stash.
Take a look at this card I made.  I had Mother's Day on my mind but I think it could be used in other areas:

"Will You Accept This Rose"

It's Friday and I hope all is well with you.
We made it to this day and are looking forward to the relaxing weekend.  We have nothing on our agenda for this weekend.
It has been a busy two days so I'm slipping in a very easy card for my share today.
I've been die cutting all week or I should say when I got the chance.  Trying to put different cuts together for cards and for a challenge.
I had cut out the Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle dies and the Spellbinders Radiant Rectangle dies earlier this week.  Today I took parts of the two and combined them to make a card.  I was looking through my flower box to find something for the front and came across this rose applique.  To finish the project, I added faux pearls on all four corners of the radiant rectangle die cut:
 Enabler's List:
Cardstock from PaperandMore (white) and DP from Studio Calico paper pad (red and white polka dot)
Dies used: Spellbinders Timeless Rectangle and Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles
Embellishment: pearls and applique`
This card will be used later .  It can be listed as a birthday, thinking of you, Mother's Day, or hello card.  I can personalize it for the appropriate person when I send it out.

Thanks for viewing.   I wish all a happy and wonderful weekend.  Please come again.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"Heavy On The Die Cutting"

Hello on this Wednesday,
We've made it this far in the week and hopefully we will make it to the weekend.
This is April and some people that made resolutions to reduce their weight  at the beginning of the year gave up on their exercise program.  Someone stated that they were waiting for the weather to get warmer so that they could begin walking and jogging.  Some who decided to give up a certain type of food during Lent was so glad it was over so they could go back to their "old habit.
So if you "resolved" to do something at the beginning of the year...how is it going or has it gone?
For today's share, I'm on an "adventure" this year to explore different things with my card making.  I have lots and lots of ribbon and rarely do I use it on cards.  I would have made the card and failed to include ribbon.  It was much different today.  When I was gathering my supplies to make this card, I did put the ribbon along with everything else.  I'm also entering a die cutting challenge so I've used several different die cuts on this card:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

Enabler's List:
cardstock: shimmery cream paperandmore cardstock; smooth cream paperandmore cardstock; shimmery pale pink paperandmore cardstock
DP from Michaels
dies: Spellbinders "just for you" die & stamp set; Spellbinders scalloped circles die; ODBD double stitched circle die; Joy Craft Lily Corner die
embellishments: Jolee's Together Blossoms Cheery Tree; pink tulle, dyed seam binding

I have so many cards to make for Mother's Day and I'm starting with my daughter who has blessed us with our one and only grand child (the one I write about all the time).  Her favorite colors have always been pink even now in her adult life.   The inside of the card has a personal Mother's Day message from us to her.

Thanks for viewing and for your lovely comments.  I always like hearing from you.
Please know that I support your beautiful projects and try to visit them as often as I can.

Sending you a hug and LOVE,
Lois

"This Is Your Life"

Hello Everyone on this Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
What are you doing that is fun- filled today other than crafting?   What about getting those taxes done...well that really doesn't sound as if it would be filled with fun...more on the side of frustration especially if you can't find all the necessary papers to file.  Let's see,...what about pulling weeds and getting grass out of both vegetable and flower gardens...not at my house...no, not today.   I did volunteer to help but I'm thankful for rain.  Most days I wouldn't feel so happy about rain but today is not one of those days.  I'm admiring it because I didn't want to be outside most of the day, maybe tomorrow.  I have a couple of books that I need to finish reading, so, that will be my fun.

I am sharing a card that I made for a birthday to put in my file until I need it.
Take a look:

"Revisiting How To Make A Screen Divider Card"

Hello friends, followers, visitors and viewers.
It is the day after Resurrection Sunday...how are you doing?  Are you still in "awe" over the celebration or are you out hiding eggs today for the small children?  Our local Town Council sponsored a  celebration on Saturday for all the children/adults in our neighborhood.  The small children had to search for eggs and play lots of games before sitting down to a snack.  It was a wonderful time for all.

Today, I'm revisiting a tutorial I did back in 2015 on how to make a screen divider card   http://lilartsywoman.blogspot.com/2015/03/how-to-make-screen-divider-card.html
check out that one and then take a look at the one I'm sharing today:
entry for http://www.wordartwednesday.blogspot.com

Enabler's List:
cardstock:  burgundy DCWV cardstock; Neenah white cardstock; black and pink Recollections cardstock
DP: Prima "Tales of You & Me" double sided papers
dies: Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles; Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Sixteen ; AliExpress Flowers Frame
punch: Craft Punch Marvy Uchida butterfly
embellishment: ribbon and silver thread

A special friend is getting ready to retire and  leave our church next month.  I made this card to remind her of the friendship we shared for the last twenty years.  The talks we shared over the years.  I didn't want to wait until next month because there are and will be so many others things I will be doing and I didn't want the time to slip up on me...having me to go out and buy one for her.  She has enjoyed the handmade ones that I've given her in the past, so she will get another one.

Thanks for viewing and don't forget to check out the tutorial  http://lilartsywoman.blogspot.com/2015/03/how-to-make-screen-divider-card.html
if you're interested in making one for yourself.

Come again...I enjoy knowing that you made a visit by reading your comments.
